We ranked 11 different photographers and found Laura's ability to adapt to different wedding ambiances and themes top notch. We wanted a lot of 'pop' since our wedding was really colorful, and Laura was perfect. Before the wedding, Laura called us before talking about pricing and logistics just to get to know us personally and our story. She was the only one that did that among photographers on our list and one of the few among all wedding vendors we booked. I think it really helped her get the right shots matching our personalities to the photos. Her pricing is excellent especially for the amount of work she puts in. Our engagement shoot was great. She planned it out perfectly to get the right scenery with the natural light. It was a long day, but she made sure we were energized with enough breaks and coffee. The day of the ceremonies, she and her team were extremely well coordinated with all of the vendors. They were super-efficient getting portraits in before and after without feeling rushed. I think most important of all is she and her team were a blast to work with! After the festivities, she sent us a small batch of photos immediately to share with the family and the big album about 2 months later which is quicker than we expected! He gave us a call let us know so we were able to adjust and get there earlier so we could still get some garden shots. Eric gave us plenty of time to get a variety of shots, he was not rushing us or being tight on time. He turned our pictures around in only a few days which was incredible. After we received our pictures, I realized there were a few photos that my dress was creased and I asked Eric if there was anyway they can be adjusted and he said he could see what he could do. Very very disappointing. While the photography was well done, when I tried to contact Lisa about…read morepurchasing my parents' wedding photos from over a decade ago, she outright refused to do anything other than an all cash purchase, was difficult, and threatened to throw away the records if we did not pay in cash. It felt tantamount to extortion. While I fully support what photographer do and understand that a lot of work goes into the final product, the outright refusal to work together -- or worse accept any type of non-cash payment -- shows that Michael Carr Photography does not care about long term customer care. We would never consider using them again in the future knowing this is the way past clients are treated. (Not to mention, the wedding photos in question put them on the COVER of The Knot at the time. They got their money's worth in referrals alone.) Choose another photographer who works in the modern age and cares about their customer's experience. Lisa and Michael do not. EDIT: Per the response it's clear that customer service is terrible, still. If they wanted to rectify it, they'd reach out.
