We try to stop here at least once when we come to the city, and usually bring some boxes back for family, friends, and coworkers. It's great after a visit to the nearby farmers market at Place d'Aligre. During our most recent trip, we compared our box side by side with boxes from some of the fine chocolate shops in Brussels, and in our opinion Les Chocolats d'Aligre was of a similar caliber.

The store is has an elegant atmosphere and showcases their various types of chocolate. The shopkeeper was very knowledgeable on the different types of chocolate, where they were all sourced and how the taste various. He was kind and generous, allowing us to sample 3-4 different chocolates. Their chocolate is definitely a luxury and will cost you a pretty penny. A small discovery box of pralines cost 19 euros but seeing my husband's happy face after each bite was well worth it!
