Great customer service & detailed work! Two years ago I was looking for a trustworthy, local mechanic, because of a concern I had with a quote given by a car dealership. I was referred to the Jeff Barnes Auto Shop through clients on the Nextdoor App. Mr. Barne's associate ( name , don't recall) evaluated the issue and offered me access to the bay Area, to view the problem first hand, while car was still on the lift. My cost for repair changed drastically ~ it went from an immediate $600.00 (according to dealership) to a $49.00 charge by Barnes Auto Shop. Simply incredible!!!! Since my initial visit, not only have I continued to use Jeff Barnes, but have also referred satisfied family members! read more

Came to him at the beginning of the year to get my Engine replaced in my 1997 Ford F-150. Went and got a cashiers check had the money he wanted in my hand. He quoted over $9,000 including the engine. Had a Cashiers check for $10,000 in my hand. I set up a time for them to come pick up my truck 3 SEPERATE TIMES they canceled twice. Now the 3rd time I told them Im not gonna be home and I take care of my parents they are both disabled, so no one will be able to come out and talk to you. The key will be sitting on the front seat of the truck when you get here, and I left. JEFF BARNES HIMSELF CAME AND PULLED HIS ASS INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND HELD HIS HAND ON THE HORN BLASTING IT LIKE HE WAS SOME HIGH SCHOOL BOY COMING TO PICKUP SOME TAIL FOR THE EVENING AND WHEN NO ONE CAME OUTSIDE ON THE 4TH HORN BLAST HE LEFT..... HE LEFT. And I know this because Jeff Barnes himself told me when I called later that afternoon to see why my truck was still there. "I HONKED THE HORN NO ONE CAME OUTSIDE" yeah Jeff my parents are disabled like I stated before you came over, did you go knock on the door like a civilized business owner? No? Well then Id say you're bad at your job and also a bit not bright. Then I said regardless if anyone came out I also said the key was in the front seat so youd still be able to tow it, the truck was sitting right in the middle of the driveway all you had to do was back your truck up and take it. "WELL I DIDNT SEE NO KEY" I went and took a picture of it and texted it to him. Never got a reply. So I took my Cashiers Check, supplied my own engine, took the truck and engine to I Fix Fords guy in Fuquay, he got my truck in that week and fixed for only $2,800 so I ended up saving close to $4,000. So I will never use Jeff Barnes again complete nightmare and dude acts old and pissed off like he wants to retire but cant afford to, NOT MY PROBLEM. Oh the Diesel mechanic they referred me to for my F-250 who use to work for them tried to scam me when he tried to fix my other truck His name was Daniel Duncan. COMPLETE FAILURE EVEN THEIR OWN FORMER EMPLOYEES SCAM CUSTOMERS. Trash place. read more

I want to thank Jeff, Jamie, Dani, and the crew! I've always had positive experiences and appreciate their business. Best, Dan

Jeff Barnes is the very best auto repair in the area! All mechanics are licensed! Reliable and honest with fair prices. Communication is great with quotes and updates. Jeff Barnes is a hidden gem on Highway 210 just past the city of Angier. Highly recommended to everyone! read more

Just had my first visit to Jeff Barnes Auto Repair. I don't normally take the time to type up reviews but in this case I have to. I replaced the headlamp assemblies on my car but didn't have a flat drive to aim them. Jeff squeezed my in and did the aiming at a price less than half the dealer wanted and in a few hours. Living in Angier it also saved me a trip to the dealer in Cary which is the only other source I'd feel comfortable with. I also asked about other services for my cars that they recommended I not do. No upsell - just a straight ahead, honest businessman. Not too many of those around these days. I'm a customer now for life with all my family vehicles. read more

I have been taking 4 different vehicles to Jeff for over 12 years. He is a very honest and dependable person that is very trustworthy. 9 out of 10 times he gets repairs completed ahead of schedule. As long as they are in business I wont go anywhere else. read more

I decided not to be a customer here when the proprietor was rude. Life is too short to deal with people like that, regardless of the work quality. read more

A great place with terrific staff. Repairs and service of all kinds with fair prices and quick turnaround. My car pays many bills for me and the speed of service keeps me coming back again and again. I've been using Jeff Barnes auto for many years on at least 8 different cars and have been very satisfied with the quality of service and the recommended repairs. He has always been fair in pricing and has never oversold us on recommended repairs. His communication on options and timing for maintenance on repairs has been superb. He is generally able to complete repairs at the time he targets and is careful not to overcommit and is open about issues that may cause a delay in delivery. Jeff also checked out and advised me on a used car purchase I was considering and kept me from buying a car I would have likely had serious issues with down the road. Jeff Barnes Auto has earned my trust and this 5 star review over about ten years or more of consistent excellent service. read more

I needed a brake job on a newly purchased used car. They worked me in and got the job done in a matter of hours. The service was friendly, courteous and straight forward with no attempts to up-sell. Also the cost was less than I anticipated. I'd go back in a flash! read more

I've been taking my car to Jeff Barnes for eight years now. Good work, honest estimates. Only problem is communication: on three separate occasions I've dropped it off right when they open in the morning only to call at 4pm and hear that they "haven't even looked at it yet, should be first thing in the morning". :( read more

I recently had an older vehicle repaired at this auto repair shop. The staff is attentive and committed to quality repairs, and refuses to cut corners. Though the repair took a while due to the business having so many repeat customers (as a second vehicle, the repair was not urgent), this shop deservedly has a sterling reputation. Jeff Barnes automotive is the best repair shop in Angier! read more

I have finally found an auto repair shop I can trust. They might not be the cheapest but they are honest and I thought very reasonable in pricing. Especially if you are a woman you can use this shop without being taken advantage of. read more

Settle your will first. Your life will be in peril.' I recently went to Jeff Barnes for four new tires and new steel wheels. I paid nearly $600 for this service. After having driven just a hundred miles or so, I had to pull off the road because my car was shaking so badly. All four of the lug nuts on one of the tires were loose enough to twist by hand. When I called to talk to Jeff about it, he actually said that it was common for nuts to loosen after awhile. Maybe he thought that, since I'm a woman, he could give me this bogus answer and I'd just trust him but I asked around and found that it is not the case at all! He also rudely told me that he didn't have children working for him and that the nuts would have been tight when they left his shop. He "didn't know what could have happened" and never offered so much as an apology. The person who I took my car to next said that, without a doubt, Jeff Barnes had failed to tighten the nuts. Three of the tires were properly affixed and one was almost falling off. Had I been traveling any faster, I was told, it would have totaled my car and possibly killed me or others. I am so utterly disappointed with the quality of the work, the customer service, and my overall experience. Had I been going any faster or had I not been able to pull over, this could have been much more dangerous to myself and every other traveler on the road. I will never go to Jeff Barnes again. I would rather shove my broken down car off a cliff and ride a unicycle all over town than trust my car to his incompetent and negligent service. read more
