My room also had a fridge and microwave which came in handy. Important Tip: The manager does not live on the premises so be prepared to plan ahead if you need any kind of extra service when you get there!

We were first given the keys to room #17 and when we walked in, the bed was unmade and it was filthy. Someone else was already using the room. We walked back in and exchanged the keys for a new room. It was simple and the manager apologized. We get moved into room #15 and the first thing we noticed was how small the room is. Two people will be decently comfortable but anything more than that, and you're gonna be bumping elbows and knees. There is a small flat-screen television available that had a horrible picture, a mini-fridge and a microwave. The room was not equipped with a coffee maker, a desk, hair-dryer, conditioner, extra pillows, or black-out curtains. The bed was very uncomfortable, but the wall-unit air conditioner kept the room ice cold so no complaints there. The bathroom was decently clean, if you don't mind dead bugs on the floor and the water pressure left a lot to be desired. There was no conditioner provided, only two shampoo packets. The towels were small and cheap and we were only provided two and some mismatched washcloths. WIFI was pretty good. That's about the only redeeming quality that I can find about this place. There is a convenience store, a Pizza Hut and a small cafe across the street as far as food options go. Sorry, but can't recommend.

The location is perfect for nature hikes, stargazing, and peaceful relaxation. After staying with them, driving through the more tourist oriented parts of the state (Custer, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse) was a real dissappointment due to its falseness and lack of connection to the real scenic beauty of the place. The Odd Duck Inn is a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and to refresh one's self in a relaxed environment.
