After four and a half years of waiting for an adoption placement, we couldn't help but feel a lot of anxiety mixed in with all our hope. Amy is an amazing social worker and was always quick to respond to calls, texts, and emails. She gave us so much peace of mind as we went through all the steps of adopting our little baby boy and answered our many questions with patience and grace. Right away, Amy processed all the basic information that the state of Florida needed to approve our home study and talked us through the steps Florida does in adoptions. Once Amy cleared us to fly from Illinois to Florida, she connected us to Gift of Adoption, an organization that helped us with adoption expenses through a grant. She started calling our little baby by the name we had picked out for him even though we hadn't been physically present to sign anything yet, and it warmed our hearts that she was eager to prove to us that the connection was real and that we were really going to be parents at last. I knew this little shy girl was meant for our family. We brought her home and within a few days she really blossomed! Now, after only 3 weeks she is the biggest love bug and lap kitty! I am so thankful that we saved this beautiful kitten. Please, when you visit a shelter be sure to pay attention to the shy and timid cats as well as the outgoing ones! When only the best will do…read more..... Unfortunately, divorces are a common byproduct of our modern living and blended extended families. When I was served with divorce papers I was lucky to have an attorney recommend Lisa P. Kirby, in Naples, FL, to navigate me through the difficult legal process. My divorce was complex in that it was a bicoastal filing in Florida while I resided in California. We had properties in both states as well as a host of other legal issues that needed to be addressed. Lisa's incomparable knowledge of the family law courts is amazing. She was able to outline the proper strategy with realistic expectations all while keeping me apprised of all the details throughout the preliminary stages. This was especially important since I did not actually meet Lisa until the day before trial. Lisa's trial demeanor is brilliant as it reveled her character and integrity. The "no-kill" shelter that killed the stray that I entrusted to them! We rescued two strays from a…read morebusy road on Friday after they almost got hit TWICE. They were obviously someone's dogs given their cleanliness and collars but had no chips or phone numbers. We called DAS to take them in so someone could claim them. Immediately one went into "shelter shock" after all he had been thru and became aggressive. I called on Saturday and got a call back on Sunday being told that they don't put dogs down at this shelter. No one called or came to claim the dogs, so I went to visit them. I found them in small cages with their urine and feces! I gave the shelter ALL of my information and told them to put me on a last resort list for the aggressive one, because I knew he would come around with time and comfort. In less than a week THEY KILLED HIM instead! NEVER send any animals to this HELL HOLE! THEY DON'T CARE! THEY KILL ANIMALS! F the DAS !

Wind chimes, scratching posts, slides - even a huge "boat". The ducks have above-ground pools to swim in. Talk about pampered animals!! I can't believe the variety of animals they have!! Pigs, a cow, horses, goats, a sheep, chickens, ducks, peacocks, and now a burro! Looking at the videos on social media really makes it fun to know what the animals' names are when you come.
