Ohhh dang you guys. This place was right in front of us the whole time!! Turns out the BMR in St…read moreJovite is the one with the fancy floor setups and lots of pillows and citronella candles for folks who come up to their cottages on the weekend (ok and tons of other stuff too, and super nice staff.) But THIS BMR, tucked off the highway at St Faustin just a couple minutes before St Jovite, with its signs advertising Tool Rental and Contractor's Entrance is the one for when you are very serious about your building projects. You are no longer messing around, you are buying siding ,tyvek and insulation by the metre like some sort of pro. It's possible you are actually a pro, the place is crawling with them. My boyfriend has officially spent hours (and what feels like millions of dollars) here since we ran into an unexpectedly major renovation at the lakehouse. I think he has a healthy crush on like 50% of the staff, and given how much help they've given us in figuring out what we're doing and what we need, and that prices here seem to be cheaper than elsewhere, and that for 30$ they deliver all the stuff that doesn't fit in the Subaru, I'm all for it. You can't quite see this place from the highway, and as you pull up it really looks like you're not in a place that's open to the public, but don't worry: it is, and it's awesome.

My Mini-Me loved her gifts as did her bestie, and currently as I write this, our pup is sitting by the dryer waiting for her jacket to come out so she can wear it, yes, she is THAT spoiled.

Their children section is absolutely adorable and probably irresistible for parents. In any case, the style is decidedly a mix between trendy and lumberjack, which I'm ok with. The people working there were really nice. But again. $50 for a T-shirt. $60 for sweatpants. Yay.
