Service was blazing fast! I can't believe how delicious my #46 piadine was: fiocchino prosciutto, scamorza, and olio tartufato. Wow! Staff was very friendly as well, I was writing this review without noticing that a bunch of others were waiting to sit down in the small establishment and no one had said anything. Definitely will come back. I took one star off because they don't accept American Express- or any credit cards for that matter. read more

If you're looking for a piadina that's larger than your head for 5-8 euros, you've come to the…read moreright spot! Not only are the portions huge, but they're delicious!!! The piadina is light and flaky which is exactly what you want. I've ordered the spianata (pepperoni) piada ---it's pepperoni with grilled zucchini and soft cheese --highly recommend this for you pepperoni lovers. Pepperoni in italian is actually bell peppers, so for those of you that are italian, I mean actual meat pepperoni :) the speck and smoked cheese with walnuts is also fantastic. I've also had the poulette salad which was great although not what I expected. The menu with english translation indicated that it's iceberg lettuce (which I was able to substitute with mixed greens), grilled chicken breast w aromatic herbs, zucchini, carrots, avocado and almonds. When i see grilled chicken breast on a menu, I expect it to be a chicken breast that has been grilled and then sliced thinly. What I got was grilled chicken breast cold-cuts style. Now, although they were cold cuts, it was the tastiest chicken cold cuts I've ever had so I wasn't mad about it! The salad portions are also very large and come with the plain piadina on the side. They're also super efficient and you can watch them make it fresh behind the counter! Come at 1230 to avoid large lines :) if you're on the go, you can take the piadina or salad for take-away.

The man who did it was very kind and he seems happy to serve us. We ate a great picadina which is a spacility of romagna with smoked jam and mozzarella for 8€ each. Great bar with amazing selection of beers!…read more I think this is not a typical Milano bar setting, I think this is quite a unique bar. We found it great! They take beer serious in this place! All people sit, there is no standing at the bar so the place was almost full when we found a place. Most chairs are along long tables and this creates a nice atmosphere. This place is were friends meet and discuss, couples sit and talk..... and everybody drinks beer. There are literaly hundreds of beers available. Chalkboards are filled with more or less exotic brands and names and the beer tap has around twenty draught beers which are brewn by the BQ microbrewery. We tried only a few of the different brews and we really liked them. Just try one or two and let the enthousiastic bartender explain some typical differences, like all the different herbs they use. The only thing we did not really like was the smell of the rather fatty food they serve, like fries and burgers.

Stumbled upon this place while strolling around one the canals in Milan. I was wrong to assume that…read moreItalian beers we're going to be as boring as some of the ones I had tried before. Luckily BQ exists and they proved me to be very wrong. It would be an understatement to say they have a very good selection of craft beers. These brews are so darn good and well balanced that they give Belgian and German beers a run for their money. If you're in town and want to sip on something different than wine, swing by BQ. The only downside is that the place is quite small, but that wouldn't stop me from going back if ever in Milan again. Wish these guys would open up a place in NYC.

I had been several times to the Slice, and it's definitely the best place in Milan for happy hour…read moreand aperitivo. In many other bars, the happy hour is just some sandwiches and salads: that's not the case of the Slice. For 8 euros you get a drink and access to a gigantic buffet, with pizza, gnocchi, pasta, bread and nutella, fruit, fries and many other things; and you will never run out of food, since waiters keep replenish the buffet with new things. I strongly suggest to get there at 7-7:30 pm, especially if you are a large group, since the place is small and you might wait some time before getting a table.
