Unfortunately, JD's Auctions participates in HiBid's "Negative Feedback" scam, which is part of HiBid's faulty bidder rating system. Essentially, if one auction house dings you for any reason, or no reason at all, almost everyone else will too. Even when you contact the auction house to let them know the situation, they don't care. Your feedback score plummets quickly and almost no one will do business with you. Well, if JD wants to play that scam, that's a problem for his business. They won't be getting mine, and they don't deserve yours either! Avoid this auction house unless you want to be treated badly. read more

I did not know how good they were until I participated with another auction company with a very similar name and experienced a nightmare.( None of the merchandise I won worked and I did not receive some clothing items I won).. It would be hard to tell you everything about each and every auction that I have participated in with J.D. Auctions. For about a year, I have bid on and won over 200 + items. All of the items were shipped, professionally and with such courtesy that I never hesitated to bid again. As well, most auctions that ship either do it terribly with hardly any packing or use a service that charges so much it negates the cost savings of the auction item. On my first auction, I won several items and one was so huge, that I called and told them I didn't realize that a shelf came with the items. They donated the shelf for me at no cost and I got a nice tax write off! Then one of the women who works with J.D. Auctions was driving into the Nashville, TN area and actually offered to BRING ME THE ITEMS, FREE OF CHARGE! This saved me all of my shipping charges. She and her husband met me and unloaded the items into my car! Now, if that isn't service, I don't know what is! I learned very quickly that most people who get involved in auctions think it is just a buy it cheap deal and expect the items to be shipped or picked up like it was a retail liquidation. The terms and conditions are right on the sign up for any auction and very legal. The terms couldn't be more specific and the pick up times are very important. Most if not all of the items are being moved for reasons like a house sale, estate sale, business closing or other time sensitive reason. The items have to be picked up because the auctioneer staff has to vacate the property and if you don't pick up your items on time, you lose the item. However, J.D. has the reputation of working with you if you have a problem picking something up. So, let's review my attitude on auctions and the so far, the Best Auctioneer Staff J. D. Auctions. They have been nothing but polite, courteous, kind and helpful, honest and go way out of their way to help the buyer. But remember, on the other end is the seller who expects the auctioneer to honor their contract of delivering the sales proceeds and clearing out the merchandise. I have watched as people who have to sell, are sad enough to see their items go, such as an estate sale, much less deal with people not showing up, not paying or action like total jacka****'s over getting a sterling silver pair of earrings for a dollar. I am always grateful to get a great deal, not act like I was buying from Saks Fifth Avenue for a premium price and want champagne delivered to my hand the minute I pay! Read the terms and conditions, then read them again. Communicate with the auctioneer professionally and kindly, you will get the same in return. Understand that mistakes happen and be the same person you would want them to be to you: You know, "Do unto others" etc. And finally, if you have a complaint, you can take it to the Auctioneers Regulatory Board for the State of Tennessee to see if you really have a viable complaint; don't post something online with one sided and angry comments that are in the heat of the moment never stating your participation in what really happened. If you don't like the way auctions work, then get on Ebay or Etsy or some other guaranteed return site and pay 110% premium. I'm just saying, I have over 75 auctions under my belt, and so far J. D. Auctions has the best overall 5 Star service with me. No one is perfect; we live in a hostile world where in my opinion, cowards post online, the negative irate response based on emotion. But the thousands of happy customers like me, usually do NOT take the time to say how happy they are with something. I just saw these reviews and decided to invest some time and so there it is. Received my items after Natalie called and started a fight with me. Why would you call a customer and start a fight with your customer just because you had a bad day? Not well organized. Did not receive items I paid for but 2 women insisted I did as they kept telling me that was all I was going to get. Boxes I won in their pictures were NOT what I received and some of the boxes they tried to give me were empty! Another customer called them while I was there stating she had not received the right items and she wanted to just bring it all back. The employee who promised to meet me there left right before my scheduled time. Bad experience. Will never do online auctions again and will Never deal with this company again. read more

JD's online auctions have been great fun and driving to the various locations has introduced me to new areas in ETN. Be mindful though when you are bidding that pick up may not be in Clinton. I have had only good experiences with JD and crew. I have experienced one small glitch, the auction stating a different pick up time than the invoice, but that's an inconvenience, not a reason to bash a local company. The auction software is easy to use and one can follow their bids or watched items in real time. I've seen them grow over the past many months and I wish them every success. read more

Just picked up my items I won during the auction. The girls taking the money and giving out the items were wonderful to work with. They were polite, upbeat, and had great attitudes. My first and last experience with this company. I won several lots in the Rarity Bay estate sale and was told one of them, lot 315, had been given to the wrong person, but that an employee could meet me in Maryville (where I live) with my items the next day. Not hearing from anyone, I called them the following day and was told I could pick up my lot at their business in Clinton. Saying that the mistake was on their part and that I didn't feel I should have to drive 45 minutes one way to retrieve them I was told that they would ship them, but with the tone of voice their employee used I was not surprised when my fragile pieces arrived broken in a box with nothing wrapped for protection, only two pieces of crumbled paper inside. I strongly suggest their company to anyone coming into our store who may be looking to downsize or just needs help figuring out what to do. I, myself, buy from their auctions and have never been disappointed and if I have been its because I didn't fully research, call or check the information available. Their helpfulness and positive attitude (and their employees) have brought me back many times over the past three years. Finding out about this local auction house has been such fun!! There is always a piece of furniture, jewelry and/or collectibles that entice me to bid. There are also coins and guns to bid on if that interests you. The best part is the live streaming of the auctions. This makes it so easy to stay at home in your PJs with a bag of popcorn and still win a lot or two while watching on the computer. The staff is always super friendly when I go to pick up my items. I am fairly new to JD's Auctions and just love this company. I have won some of the coolest items. It's so easy to bid on line, but the live auction I did attend was a lot of fun too. You can usually preview the items ahead of time, but if you can't do so in person, their photos and descriptions are accurate as well. Before you bid, you should make sure someone is available to get your items at the allotted time and place should you win. If you follow this rule, and all the detailed terms of agreement and instructions, I guarantee that you will have a positive experience. It's very straight forward. After winning items, they notify you by email and confirm where and when to get your items. I have participated in many of their auctions over the past 6 months and have always found them to be friendly and professional- in fact after this amount of time, they are more like an extended family for me. I had been seeing this business all over facebook for several month's. I hesitated, bc it is in Clinton and I live in Knoxville. But recently I participated and won a small item. (When you sign up for bidding, you enter your credit card info and if you win, the business charges your card the next morning) I received the email stating I was charged.. and if I didn't pick my item up by 8p the next night, it would be disposed of-NO exceptions. So, after work that day I drive to Clinton, at the address in the email. * It turned out they were moving a few blocks up the street. As I pulled in, I received a call, so stayed in my vehicle a few min. While sitting there on the phone, the guy inside the nearly empty bldg. comes out with the exasperated look, palms up.. asking "Are you coming in?" I motion I am after I get off phone. , He directs me to the new address. I drive there, enter and stand there 6-8 minutes. Finally after 2 girls look on the computer.. saying "hmmmm... " several times.. I show them my receipt through phone, and I had paid for the item. 1 girls looks all around the tables of items several minutes, then tells the other it can't be found. After several more minutes, the other girl (Which I now know was Natalie, after looking at the website) comes over and tells me "They just don't have it, can't find it".. then they turn to head to their desks.. I say something like "So, I want a refund".. Natalie says "YA, YA YA.. you get a refund, whatever".. These people are SO rude. , careless..nonchalant, and just unprofessional..
