I go to the Loo a Ton so I guess I should love this team…read more Luton is a 130 year old football club that used to play in all white, and is currently in sexy bright orange. They are big rivals of Watford who just made it back into the Premier League after an absence. Absence makes the heart grow Jane Fonda. First-Hand Experience: I saw Luton play away (at Oxford) twice, at home (versus Oxford once and someone else once), in different decades... and each time I thought... why do I dislike this team so much? Their fan base is okay, their stadium is okay these days... actually really good. I'm not sure why but LTFC just does not inspire me at all. Never liked them. I think that might be because they tried to move to Milton Keynes, which sucks because Luton has a loyal fan base and deserves a team. They were famous for a plastic pitch until the early 90s, which is now outlawed in the game. Oldham had one as well, and a few other towns I think. They were the first club in southern England to turn professional. They just bounced back to the football league from the non-league doldrums. They've had 3 brief stints in the top division of English footy. The players I remember are Lars Elstrup and Brian Stein. They've had a few famous managers, and once won the League Cup. Their fans are famous for Lootin' local banks. Their stadium holds just over 10k people, and I'm very indifferent to them. I then found out they tried hard to relocate to Milton Keynes as the "MK Hatters" for financial reasons, and that's pretty awful to their fans, so they are being reduced to a 2.
