Calling our experience with Screen Builders "less than stellar" would be an understatement. When…read morethe two installers initially built our screened lanai, we didn't realize how many problems we would encounter. As we spent more time using the enclosure, we noticed bugs constantly getting inside--even though we paid extra for higher-quality mesh screening. We also discovered that the gutter was improperly installed. When it rained, water leaked onto the patio because the installers had jammed the metal into place, leaving gaps where bugs could enter. The end cap was crooked and poorly assembled. The workmanship looked like something a child had put together. I contacted Screen Builders (numerous times) and asked whether they would consider this acceptable work if it had been done at their own home. We paid thousands of dollars for a screened enclosure, only to be frustrated by poor workmanship, bugs, and rainwater leaking through the improperly installed gutter. Thankfully, Tito eventually came out to address the problems. Tito took genuine pride in his work. Tito removed the back of the gutter and completely redid it to correct the installation errors. It took him two days to properly fix what the original installers had done. Tito was professional, diligent, and clearly committed to doing the job correctly. I truly appreciate the care Tito put into fixing the problems. If everyone at Screen Builders took the same pride in their work as Tito, I would have no hesitation recommending the company. Unfortunately, the original installers' poor workmanship overshadowed Tito's excellent effort. Based on our overall experience, I cannot recommend Screen Builders.

It looked really nice and I was impressed that it had been years from the initial surfacing so I looked into contacting the company for more information. Cory reached out to me in a timely manner. At first I was a little taken back with the cost applying SUNDEK however, witnessing the work involved with the layering of paint along with removing the existing old paint, backs up the phrase that you get for what you pay for. Ruben and his partner did an excellent job with prepping around the pool to make it a point not to get any paint around the surrounding landscape and decor. I watched them throughout the five day job with meticulously keeping the area clean while they apply the layers of paint to obtain what the SUNDEK is known. My backyard came back to life. Additionally, Apex has exceeded my expectations in regards to fixing after-final -construction issues. Some Details: 1 Competitive pricing. Apex quote came in at the same price as other lower-rated pool companies and 20% less than similarly rated companies. 2. Apex has their own people. I experienced a consistent quality of work and predictable timetable. Each phase of my build project was handled by a different group of people. Every single person in every phase took pride in their work; were friendly and professional. Roddy Brown my construction manager 95% of the time answered his phone and provided clear answers to any questions. I called Roddy one day AFTER the build was complete. He answered the phone even though he was home recovering from a serious illness. On another occasion, I called the Apex office when it was closed on a Saturday. The office manager Julie, answered the call and helped me EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD COME IN TO CATCH UP ON WORK AND THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED!!!! WOW. 3. Another plus with Apex is that they are a paver contractor. It was easy to pick out our pavers because they use their parking lot as the paver display. Large sections of each paver type so that you can get a clear idea of what the pavers look like. Apex did an amazing job on our pool hardscape. 4. The pool build is a long process. The most agonizing part is the initial permiting that was at least 4-plus weeks. Nothing Apex could do about that. Many steps and many inspections. Apex provided a project sheet outlining each phase of the build process. Additionally, it seemed like they had good coordination with the local inspectors because we never had to wait too long to get and inspector in to review their work. 5. I got feedback from the local inspector that APEX was a quality pool company and seldom had inspection issues. He mentioned that another pool company was doing a job in our neighborhood and they had a long list of issues. Throughout the multiple inspections that were conducted, I think the inspector had one item on the punch list for correction. 6. After the build was completed, the last person I interacted with was "The Pool Lady". Her job was to train me on taking care of my pool. She came in initially to get the water chemistry right and to go through all the steps to keeping my water and pool in great shape. I think she did 3-4 separate visits. She was very thorough and helpful (I have never owned a pool). With her training, I was confident that I could do my own pool chemistry. A year later, my pool water is crystal clear. Based on discussions with other new pool owners the Apex Pool Lady was a star. She really knew her stuff. 7. Finally I want to reiterate the exception after-the-build response to questions and issues. I called several times with equipment issues (not related to Apex). I was shocked that Apex responded that same day multiple times. I think once I waited a day. I was pleasantly surprised with their response.
