Hey Mr. DJ Entertainment Services - Beautiful table decorations and the food was amazing

The most important thing to my husband was good food. We had already hired hey mr DJ for DJ…read moreservices and thought we would schedule a tasting. Presentation was beautiful and the food was delish. We were told the catering would include everything (plates, forks, cups etc) and they would decorate the buffets to match our theme. We were torn because I really liked lady fingers, however chose to go with hey Mr Dj. This unfortunately was a mistake. The baked potatoes were not edible, they were completely raw. We requested green beans, which were not served until after over 1/2 my guests had gotten their plates. My husband and I were super surprised to see they decorated their buffets lines using our decorative table cloths, and did not ask first. I assume they found them at the venue and helped themselves. We had to ask for butter for the potato bar as it was not out. Although it was not needed because the potatoes were impossible to eat. The chicken at the tasting had a nice seasoning on them, however the chicken served at my wedding was plain chicken breasts with no seasoning floating in water (and dried out). Cake cutting I was originally told was included ended up being a charge and I was told I had to purchase plates, napkins, forks etc. ‍. I wish we had stuck to only the DJ services. The DJ was super nice and interactive. I did reach out to Glen Davis to tell him about our experience before posting this and he seemed to offer several excuses. He admitted having a "new chef" but felt the food should have been the same as they follow the same recipes. I was very disappointed and to be honest embarrassed . Many and I mean many of my guests raved about the DJ, cake, and decorations but openly admitted the food was not good. Again shall I say embarrassed . He offered a free bounce house for my kiddos this summer, but the truth is, I felt like he really didn't care. He said he was told the potatoes were undercooked from the DJ but overall food was good. Well I am the paying customer, and apparently what I feel is unimportant. Even though the DJ was great, knowing what I know now about the lack of care from Glen, I will never use their services again. Not only myself but all family and friends. Very sad because we had such high hopes and bragged about how good the night was going to be including the food. This should have been the case considering the price we paid. With all this said, I would highly recommended lady fingers which is what I should have stuck with. Hey Mr Dj was a let down for sure.

Greetings, Sara Stanfield here....I am the President of the Department of Veterans Affairs Employee…read moreAssociation for the Louisville Regional Office. This year was our first year having a Holiday Christmas Party outside of work in over 12 years....so as you can imagine, expectations were high! We hired AxlJoe Music Entertainment!!! They were AMAZING! Definitely the life of the party! Joe and Diana saved my tail! Everyone was so happy and had a great time! They played wonderful music! I loved their selection! Literally, from toddlers to older people- there wasn't anything he couldn't play! It was a blast! I remember at one point during the party I was running around checking on guest and doing hostess stuff and hearing a song he played and thinking "omg, I love this song and haven't heard it in years!" I got so many compliments on his choice of music! The dance floor stayed busy! Also, I was scrambling to buy time with the kids before food was ready and they even played a game with the kids on the dance floor to keep them busy and it was so much fun! The parents got tons of cool pictures! It was awesome! I will hire them from now on for all my events for sure! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! We are already planning our next event and they are definitely going to get our business again! You won't be disappointed!!! Joe and his lovely wife Diana are amazing and so sweet. They both are true professional but down to earth business owners! They really care about your experience! Definitely, the BEST DEAL in town! Give them a try! You won't be disappointed!!!

Everyone who went had a great time and many said it was the best party they had ever been to! I think that the music, the sound quality was perfect. It set the mood and but was not intrusive, which was what I wanted so that people could have pleasant conversations. Yet it was present enough that even my 90 year old Mom decided to get up and dance!

I'm honestly teetering in this review. There's a really (still) irritated part of me that wants to…read moregive this place like two or three stars but they really did such a great job leading up to and completing the wedding day that I almost can't take away a higher rating. The ceremony and reception were handled well, the music selection was generally true to what we asked of them, and they dressed well for the wedding. They were timely and made the ceremony crisp and clear for everyone to hear. There were a few speaker issues in the reception with microphones but all in all, it went smoothly. They ensured guests made it where they were supposed to be going (aside from completely abandoning dismissing everyone by row after the ceremony). They also made announcements for important things. Sounds great, right? So why do I have this uncontrollable urge to give them two stars? PartyZone is organized and has a lot to offer. We went with them because of their attention to detail and we've heard they can almost do anything in regards to special effects (which is cool). They're easy to get a hold of, easy to work with, and did I mention organized? I mean my primary reason for choosing them was sheer organization. With that being said, they really dropped the ball on the "attention to detail" that they also pride themselves on. We're going through our cards, post wedding, seeing what everyone has to say and just reminiscing on all the fun we've had with each individual writing us said cards. Then we roll across a card from good old PartyZone - we think "aw that's nice". And then we open it... "she said I do, then he said I do".... Now it is no secret that Sarah and I are obviously two women who participate in a same sex relationship and just got married... as two women. And here's this card that is just distasteful to open up post wedding day after reading all of the sweet stuff people have to say. And then we get this bs card that just completely peeved Sarah (more than it peeved me initially). So we decide to just sit on it for a couple of days and plan on calling them Monday to just talk to them about how disappointing it was to receive that card. Surprisingly enough, I didn't make the call but Sarah did because she really felt passionate about this- as do I. She gets on the phone, talks with the main DJ and he is very apologetic (though that does not take away from the problem that has already occurred) and after some time decides to reassure us with the fact that "one of the DJs at our wedding was gay" and that they've got nothing against the community. I also have straight friends for the record. His resolve is that they'll discuss it in a meeting and not make the same mistake next time. Which is all fine and dandy until you ask them if they even HAVE same sex cards or gender neutral cards and the simple answer is no they do not. So, yes, try harder without the appropriate tools. It honestly makes me wonder how many other people have been subtly offended by this but just not said anything. It's 2018 and having a "he said he said" or a "she said she said" or even a "they said" card can't be that hard. Hell, CVS EVEN HAS CARDS FOR SAME SEX. Or if you don't even have the tools to "personalize the experience" just don't even give out a card. Someone at some point should have caught the dang card and said huh.... two chicks are getting married why does this even say "he"?! I want to give them two stars or three... so badly. But I also am very pleased with the things they did do right. And I guess I'm somewhat pleased with the receptiveness of "wanting to talk about the incident" and the apology. I'm still bitter to be honest. They do decent work but I also want people to be aware of the lack of representation even with the number of same-sex weddings he says they have done. Idk. 2/5 but also 4/5. Thanks for tuning into my novel.

Cori was our DJ / MC (and I believe he is the owner? Not sure about that). Cori was awesome. He showed up squared away in a suit and tie, he is professional and is an excellent MC.
