If I could give James less than 1 star, I would. One broken promise after another. And he owes us…read moremoney because he never finished the job. I've given him every opportunity to do us right, but so far, he has not. And now he is ignoring our calls. First, he gave us a quote for $1000 to trim all the shrubs and bushes in our yard. He never finished the job; Not even half of it. Secondly, when he gave us the quote for the job, he said he would gladly take a personal check upon completion of job. On the day he was to start he said he could not take a check. After some haggling, he agreed to accept a personal check. Thirdly, when he gave us the quote for the job, he said he would accept full payment upon completion of the job. Then, on the first day of actual work, he wanted half upfront. Fourthly, he promised to be at our house on a certain day, at a certain time, to commence work. He never showed up, and he never called to advise he had problems. I called him that afternoon and got ahold of him. He said he had truck problems and couldn't make it. He said he was too busy trying to take care of his truck to let me know he wasn't going to live up to his agreement with me. Fifthly, he initially promised to have the job done in one day. After two days, the job was less than half done and he wanted to back out of the job completely. After his poor performance, I gladly agreed. Sixthly, when we terminated the verbal contract, he had finished less than half the job but received half the payment. We negotiated an equitable payment for what work he did complete and he was to refund me some of the money I had paid him on day one. He has not given me that refund and now he won't return my calls.

We first met with Lynnea at our home, whose…read morebeen at Saluda for over six years, it was impressive to know she has a horticultural degree to add to her experience and knowledge. She listened to and assessed our exterior with her vision and care, she took in everything we said, our concerns and our wish to transform the exterior look of our home. A landscaping design was created and after our review and approval, we were on the schedule rather quickly. A crew of men came, managed by Robert and led daily by Juan. They confirmed the plans and got to work early each day. What's so refreshing is each time something came up that was important, such as retaining wall layout, placement of lights or plants, or a need to adjust plans, our input was needed and respected. Our home looked so ugly before Saluda came out, it was embarrassing, we did not have a sprinkler system, landscaping or lighting and had terrible drainage around the home. Saluda not only has professionals that know what they're doing but they truly care about the job they do and want their clients to be thoroughly satisfied. My family, friends and neighbors are amazed at the transformation of how beautiful our landscaping has turned out: our new sprinkler system bringing efficiency and saving time with watering, gorgeous exterior lighting that highlights our new retaining wall and home, front and side piping, drains and rocks to route water where it's needed and beautiful plants, trees and shrubs to finally make this home stand out. We had a few other local companies come out to give their input and bids and found that Saluda is very reasonable for the scope of work needed. They worked with our budget and the other bids and appreciate our military service with a discount. What was a huge deciding factor aside from price was the responsiveness, the detailed estimate and explanation of work and timeframe. We will have future projects and will definitely have Saluda back and will always recommend them because of their ability to get the job done right in every aspect of the process from start to finish.
