I arrived approximately 5 minutes late for my appointment (11:20 a.m. for an 11:15 a.m. appointment) and had already communicated beforehand that I would be arriving at 11:18 a.m. I understand that late arrivals can affect appointment times, but what was never communicated was that this would result in losing treatment time or that choosing to reschedule to receive the full service would result in an $40 cancellation fee. Instead of clearly explaining the policy and giving me all the information upfront, I was told after the fact that the fee would be applied. I was charged $40 unfairly for a gift appointment from my friend, who is a weekly client at this establishment. After this experience, I have already encouraged her to take her business elsewhere. The massage therapist also did not provide a welcoming experience upon arrival. Rather than greeting me professionally and warmly, the interaction immediately felt as though I was an inconvenience and that the shortened appointment was being emphasized instead of trying to provide a positive client experience. Policies are one thing, but communication and customer service matter. Unfortunately, this establishment failed in both areas.

I specifically asked the woman on the phone if anyone working today could provide medium-to-gentle pressure. She assured me that they had someone available whose massage style was similar to Leena's. Based on that recommendation, I agreed to the appointment and arrived on time. My massage therapist was Jessica, and unfortunately, her technique was anything but gentle. At the beginning of the appointment, I explained that I had been doing a lot of walking recently and asked if she could please focus more attention on my feet. My feet were left until the very end of the massage, and she spent approximately two minutes on each foot. More concerning was the amount of pressure being used. I repeatedly asked Jessica to use softer, gentler pressure because I bruise easily. Lucy and Leena had always understood and respected this. Instead, Jessica responded that "harder is better pressure" and continued using hard pressure despite my requests. I am extremely disappointed that the establishment recommended Jessica after I specifically asked for someone who could provide medium-to-gentle pressure. I would have much rather been told that no one available that evening could accommodate my preference. Instead, I left feeling as though getting me in for an appointment was more important than listening to what I was actually requesting as a longtime customer. If Samantha had been there, I would have felt comfortable speaking with her directly about my experience. Unfortunately, after being a loyal customer for more than three years, this experience has made me decide to look for another massage establishment. I also chose not to leave a tip because I was unhappy with the service. As I was getting ready to walk out the door, the woman at the register asked me, "You do not want to give her a little something tip?" I responded no. Her room is located towards the back of the building, so I could not hear the traffic off of the main road. This most recent time I saw Amanda she had music in the background and beach waves sound playing, which was really nice. Her layout is more spacious than her last setup, and it is very comfortable. I booked a 75 minute massage and I am always left thinking I should have booked more time. I always leave incredibly relaxed and feeling pampered.
