A naturally shy girl, her experience at Showbiz has helped her find her inner confidence and provides her with an artistic outlet that I know will serve her well in life regardless of what path she chooses. Kristie Eckman's artistic talent, teaching acumen, infectious good humor, and amazing patience have helped mold her students into confident, award winning dancers. The studio itself is easy to find in t he Landen shopping center. The classroom is a large setup with plenty of room for students to work on routines as a group or spread out and express themselves during solos. A comfortable lounge area up front for the parents to relax while the little ones learn. The cost per class is very affordable and the diversity of available styles such as tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop let you or your child experiment from year to year to find what speaks to you. Showbiz also boasts one of the most award winning competitive dance teams in the area. In 2010, our teams traveled the region scoring amongst the top in virtually every category entered, including one remarkable performance by a dancer who managed to take 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd in the same category (yes, three different solos). The team's performance at Nationals in New Jersey this past summer was equally fulfilling, further cementing in my mind that there is no other studio in the Tri-State I would take my daughter.

I like the Showbiz teachers and the quality of dance is the best around. The students do great preforming at competitions, too. Most importantly, the students seem happy, so they really give their all.

I started going to Dare to Dance's Zumba classes after purchasing their amazing Groupon deal at the…read morebeginning of January. I waited until February to go because they had sold so many deals and classes had apparently gotten pretty full. If you've never dine Zumba before, I definitely suggest looking into it to see if it's the right fit for you. There's a lot of side-to-side movement that may not be great for your knees or hips if you've had any trouble with them. I've also had some bizarre troubles with my shoulders and have been talking about it with my chiropractor. If you decide Zumba is something you can and want to do, D2D is a great place to go. Your first class is free and after that there are lots of membership options to fit your needs. I like the freedom of being able to come to classes when I choose, which fits my unpredictable schedule. The facility is very nice, easy to get to, lots of parking and the staff are friendly and very welcoming. I usually go to classes when Richelle is instructing. I like her energy and her instruction style. Some of the footwork can be a little complicated, but it's easy to pick up again. It's also easy to modify the steps and movements if something doesn't feel right, or if you lack the coordination necessary to do the full step. I may or may not struggle with this problem frequently :) It's a safe space, so I don't feel like there are people judging me if I don't do it "just right" which I really like and am always concerned about with group classes. I have seen that so e moms bring their kids and the kids do homework off to the side during the class, so that's a great option if you've got a little bit older, self-directed child(ren). The only downside I can mention is that classes do tend to be a bit large, so it's hard to impossible to ask questions during the class or ask about modifications. Which also means that if you're doing a movement in a way that might injure you, you probably won't be corrected. But, the counter to that is that the instructors are always available before and after classes to talk and answer questions. In all, I'd highly recommend Dare 2 Dance to all. In addition to Zumba, they also have instructional ballroom dancing classes and sessions and host various events quite often. Check it out & maybe I'll see you at Zumba!

He asked what the dance class was for, I said a wedding, and he goes "oh godddd" under his breath and says "okay well this class isn't for weddings". I mentioned the Groupon didn't say anything about that and he says "well I've tried to get it up and it's very hard. Plus you also need a first dance song if you don't have that no one can help you" and hung up. Horrible customer service. Don't recommend
