The Club at Green Valley is an amazing gym with lots of awesome amenities--free locker service,…read morefree towel service, child care, etc. Also, The Club has first-rate equipment, and it's definitely one of the classiest looking gyms I've ever visited. As for programs and equipment, The Club at Green Valley has Les Mills fitness classes (BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyStep, CXWorx, and BodyVive), they have a great lap pool (it's not Olympic sized, but it's good for getting your laps in), a nice cardio room with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, etc., and a weight room. They also feature a unique program for young athletes called Parisi Speed School, which is a program designed to help athletes improve athletic performance, maximize their natural abilities, develop a higher level of self-confidence, and learn to prevent injury. If you live in the Greensboro area, check out The Club at Green Valley or their other club, The Club at Oak Branch. Both locations are great.! Also, if you're just in town visiting, you should check them out because they have guest rates for visitors!

The wide range of equipment is sure to meet your needs. Recently, the treadmills and some of the ellipticals were upgraded. Other new additions include a Jacob's Ladder, a new stair mill, and a Curve treadmill. Other amenities available are child care (for a reasonable cost), a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and complimentary towels. There are two weight rooms, two circuit sets, and two cardio areas. Additionally, there is a yoga and ab area for those who want to stretch out or do their own workouts. They also offer an array of programming, including a full offering of Les Mills classes, spin, water aerobics, and small group functional training. There is no comparable gym in Greensboro, especially since The Club has two locations. I have been a member for over 3 years and would never consider changing gyms. Check it out, and ask what specials they have when you visit!

They have a designated powerlifting room with 4 combo racks, 2 deadlift platforms, a monolift and a power cage. This place also features the entire line up of Arsenal equipment for body builders as well as posing rooms, they have additional deadlift platforms with bumpers and wagon wheels on the main floor. They have several lanes to do sprints, jumps and more. Tons of cardio equipment, dumbbells and 8 stacks. I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Anytime Fitness that left me feeling disrespected…read moreand unwelcome. As a guest, I was approached in a manner that felt like a direct question of my presence--asking for my name and whether I was a member. This encounter felt like racial profiling, especially as I was the only Latino person there at the time. The lack of sensitivity from the staff was astounding. Instead of offering me a free trial day, which they advertise, they chose to question my legitimacy. The gym was virtually empty, with no employees around to assist or engage positively with patrons. To add to my discomfort, the owner had their young children running around while people were trying to work out. This was not only inappropriate but also showcased a lack of professionalism. Ultimately, my partner and I were unjustly kicked out, despite having guest privileges. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their customer service. No one should feel unwelcome or judged while trying to maintain their health and fitness. I hope this feedback encourages them to reassess their approach to treating all guests with respect and kindness. This was a post that was deleted

I have several concerns about the Bryan YMCA. To begin with, its swimming pool is probably the…read moreworst maintained pool in the Triad. It's often closed because it is so poorly maintained. I have swam in the Bryan pool when I could not the the lines on the bottom and when I would witness a cloud dead skin churned up from the bottom of the pool. Even after showering, I would spend much of the day with an itchy back after having swam in the Bryan pool. The other issue that troubles me is the attitude of the Aquatics Staff. They are seldom supportive and they often find minor issues to complain about when there are swimmers who clearly should receive more of their attention. On one occasion I observed an autistic/homeless man who found it very relaxing to submerge himself in the hot tube. The lifeguards were so troubled by his behavior that four staff members finally physically removed him from the pool and arranged to drop him from Y membership. This could have been handled with a lot more compassion and concern.
