Accommodations for allergens are taken seriously and the team is willing to ensure that needs are met so that the meditation can be focused on. If you haven't already, read Michael "Mickey" Singer's bestselling books starting with "The Untethered Soul." The Temple of the Universe is his little spiritual sanctuary in the woods of Alachua. The place is non-denominational and welcoming of all religious backgrounds, though it is heavily influenced by the Vedic/Hindu teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Mickey's talks, however, are more focused on modern practicality than on religion. Almost all of the events held here are completely free. I recommend starting with either the Sunday Service at 9:30am or Mickey's Talk Nights at 8:15pm Monday and Thursday. Enter the Temple quietly as there is an optional 30-minute meditation period before each program. This was a very very special class! 2nd class was Pilates Express with Maria. Wow! This woman is STRONG! It amazed me how she presented the poses, how detailed she was, and how challenging it was to do the poses! She gave nice alternatives to be able to maintain the form, and her knowledge and precision was incredible. I left feeling like I definitely got a great workout in! I appreciated her being able to give some individual attention to help me correct my form when I was losing the shape. Both of these teachers were so very lovely, and the space itself is welcoming, nourishing, with a powerful energy of healing and gratitude within it. So far in my experience of St Augustine's yoga studios, this is the best. I'm grateful to have found it! Also, as a bonus: there are clothes for sale in the small boutique that are REASONABLY PRICED!
