Magic, what they captured and what they did, just magic above and beyond skill or talent. Jay Grubb put together and amazing team for my wedding and captured the most beautiful moments, both candid and dramatic that we can cherish forever. Other than making sure my husband showed up and our vows were exchanged, photos were the next most important thing for me when prioritizing vendors. I must have interviewed some 110 different photographers and videographers. I was looking for a professional team that needed little guidance from me, that I could trust to capture my shot list, all the candid shots of our friends and family, would be there the whole of the event, could manage my husband who doesn't like people in his face at all, herd the cats that were my wedding party (myself included), were kid friendly, and the editing skills for a dramatic effect in lighting and color. Jay came through with meeting all the above criteria. He had endless patience with me, my wedding party, and my husband. When I had specific requests for shots, he was upfront and candid about what would be required to make the shot, made professional suggestions for alternatives, and just in general was informative and lovely to work with. I also went all out after speaking with Jay - videography team and a photo booth as well! The videography team was led by Lee, who was an absolute joy to interact with and the smiles and laughter he generated in all of us were just a bonus. Our photo booth was fun, interactive, and Ariana manned the station all night to ensure everyone used it to best effect and got their fun printed out or emailed to their preference. The teaser photos came almost immediately and the remainder came shortly after. Jay remained in communication with me after the wedding, his website and client portal were a fountain of useful information both before and after the wedding, and all around the whole team was amazing and wonderful to work with. Looking back at the photos, I feel beautiful, I see the love and happiness in everyone's faces. I am so incredibly happy with Jay, Lee, Ariana - the work leading up to the event answering questions, making decisions, the laid back professionalism and fun they brought the day of that made us all relaxed and often full of laughter, it was amazing. And the photos I have now! I tear up looking at them, I didn't think it was possible but they captured the joy and love of the day in such a way you can feel it in the photos, even the photobooth shots. read more

Jay and his team were amazing to work with. We booked him for our 2022 wedding, and from the very beginning he was responsive and answered all of our questions. We booked our date well in advance and Jay was in contact the whole time. I enjoy his website, it is very client friendly and includes details for his packages, you can book your sessions/add ons, and he offers samples for those dreaded day-of timelines. He is very detail oriented and helped me feel very prepared prior to my wedding. He sent follow up emails with reminders when something was approaching a deadline- it was a procrastinators dream! On the day of, Jay and his team were very professional. I trusted him to curate our photos and video with his artistic eye and everything turned out beautifully! He has a very easy going personality that made me and my nervous bridesmaids lighten up and enjoy the session. Jay was great with pose suggestions and was able to get our family/wedding party photos done quickly but efficiently. He captured some really fun/candid shots but managed to get all of the serious/posed moments as well. We received our teasers just a few days later, and we were so pleased. I can't wait to see the rest! We chose a package that included videography and a selfie station and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My guests had a blast at the selfie station- and everything is sent digitally so we get to see everyone's pictures after. Jay's lead videographer, Conner, was amazing to work with as well. He was constantly on the move making sure he was capturing everything. He was kind and polite and worked seamlessly with Jay. Jay's professionalism and personality made him a joy to work with and I am so excited to see the rest of my photos and videos! I highly recommend! read more

We hired Jay to be our Photographer, Videographer & run our Photobooth and our wedding was at the St. Frances Barracks in St. Augustine, FL! I will say hiring Jay was the BEST decision we could've made. He was the easiest vendor to work with and he has such a high standard of professionalism. He has such a great team to work with as well! I'm very glad we decided to hire him and his team for all of the photography, videography & photobooth because they all worked so well together. He made the whole process so smooth and convenient (especially for those stressed out brides, like me). His packages were BY FAR the best pricing for the quality of work and what's included in his packages. Also, his turn around time is unbelievable! We received our photobooth stripes only TWO DAYS after the wedding and the wedding picture proofs to choose from only ONE WEEK after the wedding! His online questionnaire was very user friendly and it brought up a lot of planning ideas that I hadn't thought of. Also, due to his experience in the wedding industry he was excellent at outlining exactly what to expect leading up to your wedding and on your wedding (which made me feel a lot more confident and prepared). He has always been very responsive via email, text and phone calls. I'm so happy with Jay and even happier to find out he does family shoots as well! This won't be the last time I work with him! Thank you for all of your help and hard work Jay! Can't wait to work with you again! read more

We had the pleasure of Jay taking our engagement pictures this past month after it was pushed back a couple weeks due to Hurricane Dorian's uncertain path (he was very flexible to reschedule our photo session). I had been searching for a while in the North Florida and South Georgia area for reasonable prices without losing the caliber of work and we found that with Jay Grubb Photography. I stumbled upon his work when looking at wedding venues in Southern Georgia and saw some of his wedding pictures on their website which made me search for him and found his work to be exactly what we needed and wanted. He was offering a special discount on his packages and to further save some money, we drove down to St. Augustine to meet with him there. It obviously turned out to be worth the drive as this was a gorgeous location to take our pictures! My groom-to-be and I don't exactly take pictures on a consistent basis and definitely not professional pictures, so we were feeling uneasy and camera-shy at first, at least I was, but Jay made sure to keep the conversation and jokes going to get me to open up and relax. Jay, thank you for being a part of this special time in our lives! Those beautiful photos are the result of your tasteful, detailed work, and commitment not only to your craft, but to your customers as well. If you want economical prices without losing the passion, professionalism, and quality, look no further than Jay Grubb Photography! read more

Through the whole process Jay has been extremely professional but approachable. Explaining the whole process providing example to organize and maximize your time and get the most. I love that he is flexible and caters personally to his clients what that client specifically wants or needs and provides recommendations. Since day one even before paying the retainer he took time to explain what what would be best for what i wanted. Through the whole process i felt he was accessible. The day of he was even earlier than expected which was amazing!!! Because i was so nervous making sure things were right and everyone on time. I loved that his was knowledgeable and guided us. He was really quick on sharing the videos the pictures have taken a longer time but I understand art takes time and he has tons of weddings. He has shared some of the teasers and they look good can wait to see the rest! With no doubt I recommend him even price wise he prices are really good and trust me when i say i LOOKED but remember never go with the cheapest or the most expensive. Also think about it this way you put so much time effort in this day and people came together the pictures and videos will last but if you get a bad photographer or cheap-out you will regret it but dont break the bank debt is not good. I feel Jay prices were good and he is flexible in mix matching or customizing your package to fit what you need. read more

There are so many wedding photographers to pick from. Why Jay? Well, he cares about his job. He cares that you get the best photographs you can capture. He takes your pictures like he would capture special moments for his own family. He is committed to ensure every memory from your day is caught. Best of all, he made it personal. The event was personal to him, and he caught the day with a personal touch. He was at the rehearsal dinner and coached the bridal party how to stand and when to walk for optimal photographic opportunities, which was invaluable to the success of the "perfect" wedding shot. He took charge of group photos with just the right amount of force and gentleness to get the job done right. He paid attention to detail. As a bridesmaid looking in, you see all the little things that the bride may not notice on the big day. Jay took every opportunity to ensure the bride and groom got the shots they wanted. Professional, attentive, accommodating and friendly are words I would use to describe Jay. He is also timely and makes the process fun and drama-free. I recommend his personalized services without hesitation; and know he will take care of all your photographic needs to the nth degree. read more

Jay Grubb Wedding Photography did my daughter's wedding last month at the River House in St. Augustine and did an AMAZING job. Jay is not a photographer; he is an artist. I chose Jay because the photos on his website were breathtaking. He did not disappoint when he did our photos. When I saw the proofs this week (which was ONLY four weeks later with retouches, etc.), I couldn't believe how stunning they turned out. The beautiful lighting, the perfect angles, the dramatic effects were all there. There are several pictures worthy of being in an art gallery. I won't go on and on, but do yourself a favor and use Jay if you care about getting the best possible photos of your event. It should also be noted that our wedding was a tough assignment due to having a total of 16 attendants in the wedding party, 25 relatives for a group photo and over 150 guests that took full advantage of the open bar. Jay managed to keep things running smoothly and we were able to stay on time with the prepared timeline throughout the day. And on top of everything else, he was always pleasant and professional. The wedding lasts a day, but our memories will last forever thanks to these wonderful photos. Thanks, Jay! read more

We hired Jay for our wedding and from the beginning he was absolutely fantastic. He was always great about texting me back in a timely manner and answering all of my questions. I was quite nervous about hiring someone I had never met that lived hours away from us but I'm really happy we went with him. They showed up before they were supposed to be there to make sure they were set up and also Jay had lots of tips for a bride who had obviously never been married before. He also made sure we got all the pictures we had wanted but also surprised us with some pictures we had no clue he took. I didn't come from a very lovey dovey family so being so close and personal with my parents was a little awkward but Jay would always mention something to kind of get us closer and get better pictures. He definitely knew what he was doing and led his team pretty well. The 3 guys that came with him were awesome too! We are still waiting on the rest of our pictures so once we receive them we'll leave another review but we received our video and teasers super quick! Thanks Jay! read more

Our wedding stress was non-existent with the vendors that we were fortunate to have. Jay was definitely an incredible photographer that contributed to this experience. My Mom passed a few months before the wedding and we let Jay know that photos and time with family were our biggest focus. He was incredibly resourceful, directed our groups with ease, and helped us to truly feel comfortable in front of the camera. We booked him well in advance and he responded to all of our inquiries every step of the way. We had an engagement session that had to be cancelled, due to Florida's unpredictable rains, but he was immediately offering us alternative days or options to compensate. We are thrilled with our preview of photos so far and all family members keep raving about his wonderful interactions with everyone, while capturing all of the great moments. We appreciate Jay and all he does! We would recommend him, ten out of ten!!! read more

Jay is simply amazing!!! He did our wedding pictures and engagement photo shoot as well. He puts you right at ease and makes everything fun. We met/talked with him a couple times and he captured exactly what we were looking for! He knows all the good spots for pictures. We also had a live streaming for our ceremony which was awesome and really appreciated by everyone who logged on during our special day! The videographer was so discret we almost didn't even see him there. Jay was also amazing with candid shots so much so that there are so many pictures we had no idea he was even taking, but we really love them! I would hire Jay again anytime and really highly recommend him and his team. He gave us memories that will last a lifetime! we can't thank him enough and are sincerely so pleased to have been able to have him with us for our special day. read more

Can't praise Jay and his team enough! My wedding day was so perfect and the way he was able to capture the best moments of my day so I will have them forever is so amazing. I can't thank him enough! My husband and I have received our teaser pictures back and love them so much! Can't forget about Connor his lead videographer who also did an amazing job and was very kind! You can truly tell how skilled and experienced Jay is behind the camera the moment you meet him which is what you want when booking a photographer for your wedding day or any big moments! read more

Jay was the best photographer, with a great, kind, fun personality! From start to end, his work is so well put together and makes the process a joy to work with! He likes to make the pictures come to life and makes each picture full of character, makes you feel comfortable, has ideas, and is super creative! We are beyond happy with our pictures and can't wait to get them all! His videography team was awesome as well, they both made us feel so comfortable. You will enjoy it and will not regret working with them! They are the best! read more

Jay was absolutely fantastic to work with. My partner and I both are pretty awkward people and are not good put of the box thinkers when it comes to photos but Jay was able to make us feel comfortable and help us with coming up with some ideas for photo spots and such. The end result photos were absolutely amazing and we couldn't be happier and there was no way we could choose so we just bought them all. Also after seeing these photos we are even more excited to work with Jay for our wedding next year. read more

Everyone wants the best for their special day. We googled "best wedding photographers of Jacksonville" and Jay Grubb showed up as #1. His work certainly lived up to it! My husband and I renewed our vows at the Lightner Museum in St Augustine. Jay photographed our ceremony. Jay is so warm and welcoming that it made the process so easy. We are very camera shy, but he was so patient with us. He has awesome ideas of how to best capture the day. He did a wonderful job working with our family to get the best shots. I can't wait to see our photos!!! I highly recommend him for any of your photography needs. read more

Jay is awesome! Very professional and very patient. We had a small vow renewal ceremony that Jay shot for us. Some of our immediate family can be, let's just say,.....difficult and challenging. With a smile on his face and the patience of a saint, Jay brilliantly corralled the necessary persons and captured them in their best look. Lots and lots of beautiful shots of the ceremony itself that help tell our story. read more

Jay was our wedding photographer and made the whole experience super easy and comfortable! We really had no clue what we wanted, but he was a true professional and captured some really great shots. He's efficient and engaging at the same time; he didn't rush us and made everyone feel at ease. He was responsive to questions, both before the wedding and after. Jay did an excellent job! Our family was all in town for the weekend to take family pictures on the beach. My parents also renewed their wedding vows for the 50th anniversary. The wind was crazy, but the day was beautiful. We laughed and cut up the whole time. He made the best of the situation and still captured wonderful pictures. We are so happy with the whole experience. read more
