I have had many procedures and will probably need a few more in the near future. Holmdel Perio makes the whole dental visit experience as calming and friendly as possible. From the friendly phone interactions , to the lovely waiting room, and the gentle and very patient dental assistant, this office did everything right. I think every dentist I've seen has insisted on x-rays because they claim their x-ray equipment is more advanced than the others. Dr. Aldredge was fine with the x-rays I already had and said we'd get a new set within the year. I have pretty advanced gum disease and bone loss but the Dr. assured me that he does his best to save teeth. Whew! I think even if you're scared to death at the thought of sitting in a dentist's chair, you'll do alright here.

With treatment my gums improved - however the area around 2 rear molar teeth had been infected for long enough that the underlying bone had eroded and the 2 teeth were very loose. Dr. Patla urged the 2 molars be removed. The gum surgery healed beautifully, my smile looks good, and if desired dental implants can be placed there in the future. The pockets of infection that had been throughout the gums prior to consulting Dr. Patla have been totally gone for five years. I was taught to do good maintenance and visit Dr. Patla twice a year to keep my teeth and gums healthy... it is so worth it! And her office takes most insurances.

"This sucks, i hate my job" were his words. Don't like your job? how about you pick another profession or start treating your patients nicer. Going to the dentist is stressful enough for some people, and being in this industry you should be required to maybe take a lesson in human compassion. Extremely rude, and i for one am surprised that this man has any patients the way he acts, If nobody had problems with their teeth, you wouldn't have a job at all. Think about that next time you decide to shame a patient. If i could leave 0 stars I would.

Another place that fits the 'dental mode' these days! They have these cute/quaint little houses all decorated and ambience for your comfort. Tho , like the casinos -ask yourself WHOS spending the $$ on the decor?! I went there with a simple exchange of a cracked TEMP flipper / denture/ bridge they ( Cancun Dental Specialists) put on last week to protect from their dental implants. I was finally happy to find a place to address it. Since I couldn't fly back to Cancun to address just this yet..I went to GLENWOOD DENTAL ARTS in MIDDLETOWN NJ and all this 'used car salesman" wanted to do was take EIGHT X-rays to build his 'maintenance program ' for me! He then says he's not going to touch the temp in fear he can't put new one on!!!! Huh??!!! What?!!! Are you not a dental expert of 30 years ( he was proudly boasting to patients??). Back to that review another day. So this scam dentist at Pinehurst IN MIDDLETOWN NJ sheepishly walks out of room after he realizes temp is screwed in ( mind you I told them this all week). He has front desk woman strut in and ask for my Care Credit card saying it will be now $500 to replace!!!! I have the new prostheistic I got from Cancun so it was a procedure 1/2 the time and labor of a simple tooth extraction!!! ( they cost roughly $180-200). And speaking of extractions it would have been LESS painful today than this unprofessional digging into my fresh stitches to remove them and trying to unscrew 3 simple screws all while the old cracked temp is digging into my bleeding gums! I then ask for a antiseptic rinse to be applied before putting new apparatus in.., NOPE! Just bc he and assistant were now annoyed apparently for me moving their hand away from digging into my new implants!!..People, the only way these out of control dental studio s are gonna learn to take instructions and be humbled when they are told something by the PAYING PATIENT is by these reviews, submitting cost charges ( over the top ones) AND by going overseas to get your work done at 1/4 of the AND BETTER 'bedside services " The ONLY ones telling you of bad experiences are by the fearful dentists here afraid they will be called out by their $4200 a tooth implants or people who went to some hole in the ground in Tijuana 10 years ago and got bad treatment. Please take this into consideration before deciding! You don't have to SETTLE for obnoxious people only concerned about their bottom line!- Thank you Mike Bz

And Dr. Z ensures that you know what to do for proper aftercare, leaving nothing to nothing to chance. His post-procedure call to check up on me that evening was the icing on the that cake. This won't be the first rave review I've written about Dr. Zatzkin and his office--just the latest since I began my long journey to better gum health well over a decade back, including implants, a first gum graft and pinhole gum surgery he's qualified to perform, which was both successful and virtually a cakewalk thanks to his mastery of the procedure. Hey, it's not an exciting topic, but I think of Dr. Z's expertise and good nature as symbolic of something grander in terms of my having complete confidence in his skills in a world where most of us find our confidence in services severely lagging. To say it best, I'll echo a letter I read in his office from another loyal, satisfied patient, which says, "Thank you for making my gum repairs enjoyable." Yes, the words "gum repairs" and "enjoyable" may sound oxymoronic, but between the terrific, helpful staff--five stars to all, the above-mentioned Quaneesha; Dana, my fave hygienist; Rachel, who got my insurance info processed and approved (hallelujah!); and Krystal at the front desk, whose calm, helpful presence is so welcome-- and the doctor's firm handshake and warm smile whenever I visit, it's the single most enjoyable gum-repair experience from Timbuktu to Portland, Maine--or Portland, Oregon, for that matter! Trust is a rare commodity nowadays--and I trust Dr. Z.
