At 12:00 pm on a Wednesday!! So many cars tells you this is where people go to eat!

Ate here today ! Stephanie was our server! Very attentive! Asked if we saw the board with daily special we said no ! She explained specials for today! My girlfriend and I had the patty melt with fries ! Flavor was good. ! We both would come here again if in area!

    Fresh but otherwise very plain.

I love out of the way private places and this one has been around for decades so off I went. You'll find it on Route 60 if you are blowing through Lake Wales but to hell and gone east from the main part of town. Atmosphere- It's a big rectangular box divided into a restaurant and a bar & lounge. The restaurant side has quite a few booths and tons of four-top tables. The décor is sparse and has that Old Florida feel. Everything is spotless. Adult Libations- Full bar with all the basics. Nothing fancy. You're drinking here because you feel the need for some alcohol, not a trendy IPA or specialty drink. Food- The menu is a two-sided laminated sheet of American comfort food. You'll recognize everything there. I went with the hamburger steak dinner and I could choose two sides from a long list. I went with a garden salad and mashed potatoes and it cost me $9. Pro-tip #1- This place is legendary for their Friday night prime rib. Folks line up for it starting at 4 pm. Pro tip #2- The have decent Wi-Fi but you'll need to ask for the password. I'd tell you but then I'd need to kill you! My small salad came out quickly. It was very fresh but also very plain. All iceberg lettuce. My mother would have made this salad fifty years ago. My entrée came out in good time. The accompanying roll was warm and came with a tub of mystery spread which I detest. I'm a real butter kind of guy. The bowl of mashed potatoes was enormous and enough for two. The gravy was weird. The consistency was off, and it was fatty and flavorless. The next time I'd go for fries. The hamburger steak was moist and flavorful and covered in perfectly cooked fried onions. Except for the gravy this was a fine meal for the price. Customer Service- Beyond exceptional! I had the daughter from a mother-daughter team. She was on the ball and cute and incredibly sincere. I couldn't have asked for anything more. If you are looking for nothing fancy comfort food along with an adult libation, this place will definitely meet your needs. I'll be back to try the prime rib. I'd go 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up because of the awesome customer service!

Steak ! It's what's for dinner. Tender as can be! Cooked perfectly and could cut with a fork!

First time trying. Not disappointed at all. The food was all good! We had the steak & loaded baked potato. Sooooo good! And also the Liver and Onions with mashed potatoes and gravy. This is the way you make liver. (My momma would be so proud) will definitely be back to! UPDATE: Had dinner last night, parking lot was packed! Full house HOWEVER we still got seated, served and out in such a timely manner! They clear the table constantly which is nice! Food was so good & comforting. We really like this place!

Awful! We live in the area and come often.. we sat at 7.. took 20 minutes for server to even get to…read morethe table.. we received our food at 9! That's right 9! We ordered 3 burgers (2 med, 1 well done, the well done being for a child) and 2 tunas.. all 3 burgers came out wrong (wrong temp and wrong toppings, one burger had wire brushing in it, which owner argued, saying there's no way) tuna was ice cold, and not seared cold, like fridge cold (which again owner argued saying there's is no way) . Server was great and apologized over and over ( which she should not be apologizing she's not the one in the kitchen) owner (female) finally came to the table, asked us how our dinner was. When we expressed how it was, she began to argue with us, saying there is no way that things were wrong. At one point addressing the server as if she was the one who made our food. At this point, we had enough and knew it was not going anywhere! The owner did take off 1 burger and 1 tuna.. which was appreciated. After being talked down too, we all expressed at the table, that we would rather just pay our bill and leave! Not one time were we rude, disrespectful or mean in any way to be spoken to the way she spoke to us. Absolutely wild experience! We truly love this place.. but this has definitely set a tone. Edit... Her response says it all! Facial expressions were because we were absolutely appalled at the fact that she was arguing about our experience! While ahi tuna is supposed to have a cool center the fish was ICE COLD.. FRIDGE TEMP FROM TOP TO CENTER! When asked to take it back to heat it.. it was microwaved.. which then turned it gray.. but once returned that pink center was cool, not FRIDGE COLD! The wire brush was in the burger.. she argued with us stating it was a hair from the onion(which burger was supposed to have no onion) .. even though you could perfectly see it was a copper wire of some sort! Mind you it was found at the end of the burger. The reason we didn't take the offer of new food, is because we were done.. 2 hours to get our food, and they waited till the absolute end, to approach our table! By that point we had eaten what we could and she was speaking to us by this point like we were awful people.. WHY WOULD WE STAY ANOTHER HOUR! Especially after being talked to like she was! We couldn't get a word in! So as you can tell about her response from here, you can only imagine her response in real time!!! Horrible display of an owner!

The pastrami sandwich was outstanding, featuring tender, flavorful pastrami piled high on marbled rye with Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portion size was generous. The Philly Burger was equally impressive and definitely lived up to the hype. The wings also had great flavor, and the sauces were well-balanced and evenly coated. We requested them extra crispy, but the skin ended up a bit chewy. Given that the order was delivered, this was likely due to steam building up inside the to-go container during transit rather than an issue with preparation. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal with plenty of flavor and impressive portion sizes. We're looking forward to working our way through more of the menu in the near future.

My husband and I split an order of the 6 ct. traditional wings (buffalo sauce, medium heat), and while they were good, I really wish the heat had a little more of a kick. The spice level here definitely caters more to the older whiter crowd, so order higher heat if you want it!! I got the seafood combo platter, which includes a crab cake, broccoli, fried shrimp (think bloomin onion from Outback Steakhouse seasoning), and while it was supposed to include mashed potatoes, I guess they were out of it. They didn't inform us ahead of time and subbed it out for a seafood pasta salad instead, so a little bummed there, but the food was pretty good otherwise. I tried a bite of my husband's reuben sandwich and it was fantastic! The way they do their bread is so good. In all, there are some things here and there they could definitely improve on (communication on items out of stock), and the food is just ever so slightly pricey, but it's a good meal that you'll probably have at least a little left over.

Lots of options for a place you wouldn't expect this much to choose from. You can tell owner and long-time manager Alane really cares about this place being successful. Inside seating is a large ship built by Howard. There is additional inside seating below the lighthouse that has an artistic tree in the middle. Alane decorates the tree depending on the season.
