I picked up Anne Patchett's latest and a new historical novel about Anne Boleyn. (Both 20% off.) I also bought a staff recommendation and David Sedaris' new book of essays. We didn't see any in the case and the my boyfriend asked the guy at the front. He looked in the back and said they didn't have any. My boyfriend asked him about how it says if we order online it can be ready within the hour and the guy didn't seem to know anything about that. He was trying to get my boyfriend's name and going to reserve an order, but said we could come back around 3 or 4 pm at the earliest. I was confused since on the site it says you can order it and it be ready soon. My boyfriend asked him if they can call if it's done sooner than 3pm, so we can know to come pick it up. The worker said that he didn't know if they could call when it's done and if we need a call or text when it's done to just order online. That's a little weird because I'm sure they can call when an order is complete. So we just decide to order online, since that guy didn't seem to know what's going on. We ordered through the website and it tracks everything. So we went and looked at Walmart and by the time we were done it said the cake was almost complete. We called to verify and it had another 10 minutes before being ready. While waiting we did get two of their pastries which were really good. Some custard filled pretzel shaped item and an almond croissant. Both were so good! I took off a star because the guy working could have been more helpful. Maybe he needs some additional training, so he can answer customer's questions better. The inside was clean, but the pastry cabinets were only about halfway filled when we went in and I'd expect them to have more variety of items and be full being that early in the morning.

My friend group has been meeting at this Stella Nova location since 2020. Overall, it has been a…read moregreat spot to grab a coffee and maybe some breakfast, connect, and have a conversation. Over the last couple of weeks there has been an obvious shift. Our recent visit on 4/29 was disappointing. First, my order was wrong. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese wrap and a coffee & was given a bacon egg and cheese wrap. Before my friend group arrived, I was having a conversation with some gentlemen who are also regulars. The music was so loud I couldn't hear them from an arms length apart. He mentioned he had already requested for the music to be slightly adjusted, and they refused to turn it down. We sat for a little bit longer and it was impossible to converse, so I went to the front and also requested for the music to be slightly turned down. I felt like I had to yell just for the server to hear me. The barista barely made eye contact, kind of rolled his eyes, and nodded his head. No one ever turned down the music. Don't get me wrong, I love having some background music, but it was absurd that we couldn't even hold a normal conversation. Also, it was about 7:00AM. It's not like they were preparing to shut down the store. I just felt it was incredibly rude and it's disappointing that what used to be our go-to place is now somewhere we are considering to go elsewhere due to the mere disrespect, overall environment and poor customer service.

After some brunch, we decided to try Quincy's since they moved to a new location. First, just so…read moreyou know when looking for Quincy's, it's in a small strip of businesses next to each other without much signage. The most signage was a piece of paper that said Quincy's so keep an eye out. Their choices were pretty slim. They might have had at most 8 different choices, which is fine, but only one of each for a few items. This was about 10am. Their specialty chocolate pastry was really good. It had a good chocolate flavor without being too indulgent. Their blueberry lemon scone was not good at all. Super dry, the flavor was more of flour if anything. I also bought a sugar cookie which my daughter loved, but I just couldn't get over paying $6 for the scone my husband and I didn't care for. Otherwise the other two items were good. No seating, so don't plan to hang around. They also don't have any coffee either at this location.

Service was very friendly and efficient. Cons: I personally like when coffee shops have more speciality latte options and food options (I only saw scones). Your mileage may vary depending on your preferences. It was also quite loud, even hard to hear the barista announcing orders. This might be in part due to a pretty minimalist design, which I think that might impact the noise echoing a bit. This could make it challenging to work there without noise cancelling headphones.
