Lets begin by explaining - this isn't your usual type of nightclub & most certainly is not for the faint hearted!! This is a club where you will get strippers most nights of the week, beers (in bottles) that cost 20CHF and a cover charge of 20CHF. The whole design of the club is wacky and someone must have been on something when designing it, but it works. As I said before, this isn't your usual kind of night club and thats why it is, with out a doubt... the best night club in Geneva!

The sound system on the 2nd level is excellent; you can feel the sound reverberating throughout your body and the DJ played some songs I really like. The dance floor is on the 1st level and I had a difficult time enjoying myself because the DJ on this level was playing very outdated songs. I get very annoyed when a DJ doesn't know how to feel the crowd and everyone was on the dance floor wanting to dance the night away but they were hardly moving because the music wasn't good. I give this place a 4 because I really enjoyed the 2nd level and the drinks, but I wouldn't come here to go dancing.

Let me take you back to the summer of 2009, I had just started to work in Spring Brothers Irish Pub and had begun to go out more and more during the week. My usual haunt was Shakers and this was because it was always full, the bar staff were fun and all though the manager was awful... it didn't really matter. I used to go with friend, people I met in the pub and my girl friend at the time. It was funky music, the price was fair and you could always go on your own and meet people. Fast forward to November 2012, my most recent trip to Shakers, and for certain my last one for a good year! The interior has been re-painted, the staff are awful and the state of the place is a joke. Gone are the regulars and in their place are kids who look as though they are underage and a bouncer who started a fight with a random guy in the street that required police to sort out. The place was dead until 2am and even after that they only used the upstairs. So Shakers... time to shake things up I imagine.

After paying a very reasonable cover, each member of your party is given a drink coupon, as with many fine European dancing establishments. The difference here is that your drink comes in the form of a tall neon plastic shaker with a sippy straw in it. Nice touch! The music is a good mix, which is not easy to find in these parts. There is a little bit of hip hop and top 40 mixed in with the typical techno fair. The owner/manager actively walks around and greets the patrons and is a super nice guy. Especially nice to tall, dark and handsome strangers, by the way. Word of advice: when he says he wants to tell you something, do not lean in. It's a trap! I wish I could comment on more, but this was usually the last place we ended up after a few pints at Charlie's, a few pints at the sports bar over some "football," a few pints at the brewpub over drinking games....hmmmm....on second thought, maybe what happens in Geneva should stay in Geneva.
