Again, she would put me on hold and each time would drop after 25minutes. Instead of wasting both of our times please just communicate to your patients a better time to call opposed to them being on hold for an hour all over a phone call that normally would take five minutes. I just needed to make my first appointment as I'm looking for a new primary doctor and now I am looking elsewhere due to the simple lack of communication.

Adam was my doctor in my high school years, and when I moved back to the area, I knew who to go to when I was having some health issues. A real family doctor, he identified my dad's cancer, and supported him through the acute years of chemo after setting him up with a great oncologist. My dad is stable and healthy a decade later. He also treated my grandma (nonny) and came to the bedside of her hospice room during those last days of her long life, sharing stories, laughing with us. I had never met him before and I was there to ask for a referral to an ENT doctor. Dr. Andrews was thorough, thoughtful and answered my questions. He went above and beyond when i explained my situation. If there's such a thing as 10 stars, this doc deserves every one of them. I was so impressed that I asked if i could become his patient. Sadly, he is not accepting patients but assured me I would like my new primary care doctor as he was his doctor too. Thank you Dr. Andrews- I am still grateful for your care of someone you had never met before. I am fortunate to have a medical insurance plan that reimburses me for a percentage of certain appointments with Dr. Motyka but I did have to adjust my budget quite a bit to be able to afford to sign up. I feel like it is worth it because Dr. Motyka has saved me countless hours of researching health options and feeling confused about which treatment to pursue when I have various ailments. She has also provided us with many very useful and effective health tips which I had never heard of before. I had pneumonia or bronchitis prior to seeing Dr. Motyka. I knew I needed to do something differently with my health if I was going to be able to keep on working so I made a regular appointment with Dr. Motyka to get to know her before signing up for her concierge service. After I became part of her concierge service she recommended a regime of supplements and my first-ever probiotics and my health has been very strong ever since. I have really appreciated having Dr. Motyka for my children's health care as well and feel that she has helped me feel I am doing a better job now about giving them quality medical care. She also gives me advice when I ask for it such as regarding dietary advice and post menopausal issues. Thanks to Dr. Motyka I have been able to lose a few extra pounds and she has been very helpful with navigating my post-menopausal issues. It is also so nice to be able to call her office and get an appointment within a week - I can also call her directly on her cell phone to speak with her when I have a question and she usually answers the first time I call! If she isn't able to pick up she calls me back very quickly. The same goes for her office manager Charley. I also communicate with them via e-mail type messages in a medical portal. I like having one doctor who deals with all of my health issues (of course referring me to specialists as needed) and who sees me and treats me as a whole being and not just a foot, thyroid, shoulder, etc.(the functional medicine philosophy). Another reason I signed up for Dr. Motyka's concierge services was that I love her radio show "Ask Dr. Dawn". I really appreciate her science-based medical advice that she brings into down-home remedies that work! It feels to me like I am taking an on-going health class with the radio show being the lectures! As with any doctor, I need to come prepared with my questions and a summary of my needs and history since she can sometimes get mixed up about my history or my treatment. However, I really feel that she cares about me and my family and gives us personalized treatment.

He has personally written doctors on my behalf. He is a great advocate and knows the medical system. Clinical trials, new EDS research, and also solutions to my particular knee problem. He has good instructions on how to deal with doctors. His motto for that is: "No screaming. No crying." Lol. He is also encouraging and cares about his patients. Even our toughest conversations, I felt supported and seen. Not scared of examining patients and rolling up his sleeves. Well-versed in historical medicine. Doesn't just glance at an MRI, he'll take the proper time. He had more insightful things to say about my MRI than 6 different orthos! Highly recommend. He's a gem. He's a hero.

When my mother was in the hospital, he was our advocate - he helped my mother get seen my the cardiologist asap when the hospital was pushing back. Dr. Desai was extremely thorough in reviewing my mother's blood work and adjusting her medications accordingly. No other physician provided such detail to me. As another example, I had an elderly relative with extremely complex medical issues. Dr. Desai was only a phone call away to speak with my relative's care facility, adjust medicines, and speak with the hospitalist when he was in the hospital. I don't know of any family physician that would be able to provide that level of care! Dr. Desai practices medicine the old fashioned way - by spending time with the patient and getting to know the patient. Not only is he an excellent physician, but he is excellent at advocating for his patients in our complex healthcare system. I would recommend Dr. Desai to anyone who would like to have an excellent physician on call (he actually answers his phone for his patients) and an advocate.
