If she's busy I call back or she gets back to me in a timely manner. I also just had the BEST ROOT CANAL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. With Dr. Johnson. I've had 4 and he is by far THE BEST SPECIALIST. I came in because of a small cavity on my front tooth and was told I needed a root canal, a crown, and extensive treatment because the cavity had supposedly reached the nerve. In other words, they wanted to remove much of my healthy front tooth and place a crown on it. I was also told I had around seven cavities. I did have a few fillings done here and also had a root canal and crown on one of my molars, but I wasn't comfortable with the recommendation for my front tooth, so I got a second opinion. The second dentist took new X-rays, performed a full exam, and told me the cavity was nowhere near the nerve. It only needed a simple filling, which they completed that same day. My front tooth was preserved, and I never needed a root canal or crown. I was incredibly relieved that I got a second opinion before agreeing to an irreversible procedure on a tooth that could be treated conservatively. I've also had ongoing issues with the crown they placed on my molar. It has fallen off multiple times in less than six months, and each time it was simply glued back on without investigating why it kept happening. For a crown that cost over $2,000, I expected much better. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was being encouraged to buy a $150 mouthwash, along with comments about how we had "really good insurance." After my experience, I completely lost confidence in this office. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to expensive or irreversible dental work here.

So switching was a leap of faith and it paid off immediately. From the moment I sat down, Dr. Yosi made me feel completely at ease. The cleaning was thorough but surprisingly quick, and he gave me thoughtful recommendations for other specialists I should see, which I really appreciated. He noted that his front desk person wasn't in that day so he took my information and sent me an email with paperwork to fill out and get back to the office. He confirmed that he should be able to fit me in the next week. Unfortunately, the front desk person tells me that even though I made Dr. Famili my HMO Plan provider and there was availability on their schedule, I couldn't be seen until February because I was not on their January roster. I may be new to this HMO stuff, but the roster protocol is ridiculous. I jumped through the hoops to be seen, why can't the office simply check to make sure I am covered like I said I am and give me an appointment. I'm angry because I don't like this system, but also because my darn mouth hurts!

This place is a complete mess…read more The office is dark, outdated, and immediately gives off a lack of professionalism. They start by handing you an unnecessarily long intake form asking for excessive personal information, which already feels like a red flag. Then it gets worse. I was brought in, showed the dentist the issue (a broken filling), and he casually tells me he can fix it - just not today - because their drill isn't working. No call ahead. No warning. Nothing. They knew their equipment was down and still had me come in anyway. That's inexcusable and a complete waste of my time - I had to leave work early, drove all the way over, and rearranged my schedule for an appointment they had no ability to fulfill. On top of that, the dentist was rushed, mumbling, hard to understand, and more focused on making jokes than clearly explaining what was going on. Basic communication was lacking, and the only important information - that no treatment would happen - came far too late. I will never go back. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

During the call, the dentist didn't come off very friendly and seemed a bit rough around the edges. He felt somewhat abrupt, and when you're working with special needs adults (and kids), patience and a warm, respectful attitude really matter. Because of that, I did leave the call feeling a little concerned about how my sister will be treated during her appointment. That said, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming maybe he was just having an off day. I'm hoping our next interaction is a better one. On a positive note, the woman who helped us schedule everything was very kind and helpful, which I truly appreciated. We won't be going into the office for a couple of months, so this review is based only on our initial experience. I plan to update it after we've had the appointment.

Dr. Rubenstein was extremely patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. After his exam, he diagnosed me with less than half of what I was originally told elsewhere and after I mentioned the previous treatment plan, he stood by his assessment and explained why he didn't believe all of that work was necessary. That level of honesty and ethics is rare to find. My dental cleaning with Venus was also exceptional! She was meticulous and clearly takes a lot of pride in her work. It was one of the most thorough cleanings I've had. The entire office staff was kind and welcoming. Ermy at the front desk was especially wonderful.
