Adam Merrick treats everyone below him like they don't have money and even treats his own employees in office like they are slaves to him. If you are renting an apartment from him, you already know how his maintenance is crap and cheap and how his crap service guy Randy ruins more then he fixes. Do not ever trust or him! He recently traveled to Florida and has new pictures on his instagram. 3333 N Federal Hwy #634 in Fort Lauderdale, FL since August 2019. Adam Merrick, the principal of Adam Merrick Real Estate in East Peoria, is not facing any publicly reported criminal charges or official government legal actions. However, there is a strong consensus of negative sentiment and local criticism regarding the firm's business practices.Locally, the brokerage has drawn heavy community scrutiny and complaints. According to discussions on the r/PeoriaIL Reddit Community, local residents accuse the team of operating unethically. Common grievances involve the quality of their home flips, allegations that they conceal major structural issues, and accusations of aggressive marketing tactics, such as removing competitors' signs from front yards.Online reviews also echo mixed to negative feedback from the local industry; while some customers have praised their responsive sales team on the Adam Merrick Real Estate Yelp Page, others--including fellow real estate professionals--have criticized the brokerage's high commission rates and customer communication on the same platform.

His total commission included fees to bring the total payout to Adam Merrick of almost 8.4%. Surprise! I even asked for an independent title compmany but there were fees paid directly to his title company. I will never work with him again. Folks need to research before they get involved with someone. I would avoid anything to do with his name on it.

Our search started in October 2024. However, we didn't find OUR house until August 2026. So let's…read morego to the beginning. I research everything. So obviously, I read reviews on different agents. I'd come across more than a handful of realtors with very high reviews, but wanted the best God had for us. So we prayed and asked God to lead us to the right agent. Long story short, I called a female agent about a house and left a message. By the next day we still hadn't heard from her. She called and texted back over the weekend but for some reason we kept missing each other. So I contacted another realtor who also had very high reviews who was selling a different house to ask about another house. At this time, we still had plans to go with the female realtor. However, Scott (the 2nd agent/realtor) contacted us right away. I was up-front with him and told him that we were looking at another agent waiting for her call. Scott kindly said that there was no need for that and he can help us...lol. Now, let me just stop and say that Scott did NOT poach from another agent. The other agent hadn't yet spoken to us. With that being said, I believe it was God answering our prayers. We agreed to keep Scott as our agent because of his high reviews. However, I personally believe it was more to it. Feel free to think of it like this, God chose our realtor for us. With that being said, this market was and is "stupidly other worldly". We barely saw nor liked most of the houses on the market. We started out almost $180k lower in the beginning. We were just starting out not really understanding the market. Scott, was never pushy. He gave us the space to figure it out. There was a lull period until April 2025. We went up almost $100k from where we first began. We put an offer on a house. Again, Scott gave his gentle input but let us figure it out. The seller went with another offer. I'm personally happy they did. The market was horrible at that time and I agreed to buying out of desperation. Our desire was to buy in North Peoria or Dunlap. Unfortunately, the houses in those area's are ridiculously priced. Let's move up to 2026. We increased to $180k above our original amount. We finally saw a house in July of 2026 that we were interested in again. Scott showed us the house and we put an offer on it right away. If you've gotten to this point in the review ask Scott what happened next. It's as if God held this house just for us. No one put an offer on the house!!!! Guys, it made absolutely no sense. We were able to negotiate with the sellers. Scott gave us a starting point and we went from there. Scott was adamant about not letting the sellers keep us waiting for an answer past 24 hours. He was on top of everything. Needless to say we purchased this house in a desirable neighborhood for significantly under asking price with Scott's help. We know it was ultimately God that did it. But I do believe that Scott was God's choice for us. He stuck with us through this crazy market for almost 2 years. We were picky because we didn't want to accept the dictations of the market. I'm sure it was frustrating to Scott to go without a sell for that long. Scott, we appreciate your attitude and gentle grace (which I think is your superpower) throughout this 2 year journey. We pray God blesses you, your family and your business. Scott, thank you for your time and patience. Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
