Massive outdoor flower market in Amsterdam with booth after booth of flowers, seeds, roots and…read morebulbs. Most of the booths had repetitive items but the prices varied, so shop smart. We learned during our private cultural tour that in order to transport certain flowers to another country the bag needs to include a mandatory certification seal. Only a few shops had these seals for the Tulips, but we found two places and purchased Tulip bulbs for 8€ from one of the vendors who removed them from a cooler. Beware that this market area gets extremely busy with tourists so get there early at opening.

Apparently tulip season was over and there were no "USA certified" tulip bulbs to be had. I don't give up that easy and preceded to check every flower booth until I finally found one with a couple boxes left for about 10 euros. Not too bad of a price. I also purchased a pretty plastic tulip to put in the pot until it grows.

I recently notice they have a wide selection of wonderful house and outdoor plants, flowers, roses, vibrant tulips and potteries for all types of plants. We purchased one of their beautiful pots for a big plant dutchman recently brought home. What a wonderful plant shop with a variety of plants to choose from. They have a unique line of quality bouquets to decorate and liven up your home. So far it appears B & B Bloemen is one of the best florist shops in Haarlem. The only suggestion is they just need to step their game up when it comes to delivery, other than that it is a great shop.

I really regret that we bought our couch in Belgium. Never again, now that I finally know a few nice furniture stores. If your looking for furniture, first check around in a few shops in Amsterdam and Haarlem, before you hit outside of the Netherlands.

Sweet flower and plant shop at Tenkate Markt with a large collection of flowers, interesting plants…read moreand pots. The owners are very helpful. There are many flower shops in the city so it's often hard to resist just going to the nearest shop but the owners here are quite lovely and deserve the visit. If you're at Tenkate, stop on by.
