    I definitely felt safe here.

While this was not a visit to purchase a piece of jewelry, I feel the level f service here was equal among everyone. I had a necklace that I brought in for service a while ago and it was time to pick it up. I was so impressed by the level of service here and their attention paid to keep their customer's safe. I had to wait in the hallway to be escorted in.. They confirm name, appointment and reason. As soon as you walk in there is a table with all types of personal protection. Wipes, gloves, sanitizer. They have been doing what I have been preaching all along... make your customer feel safe. I had to walk six feet behind the person escorting me in and sit where I was told to go. They are really monitoring social distancing and safety here. My visit was short. They gave me the piece I came in for and packaged it beautifully. Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful. Customers were well separated and this is a really big store. I recommend places like this to do business. They are, and have always been very customer focused and caring. They have an enormous inventory of everything at this location. The staff has terrific knowledge and their repair is top notch.

Maria, Thank you for your amazing help and making our dream become reality! James & Jenna (San Diego, CA)

Upon looking for a specific ring from the Jared website, the ring was no longer available. I called the Carle Place NY location and had the opportunity to work with the manager, Maria V. She was able to provide me with the upmost respect, full information on my ring, and helping with multiple options on purchase/shipment due to the COVID-19 conditions. Maria went out of her way to make sure every condition was met and to make sure I understood everything before purchase. Making the process even easier once completed. I will recommend some friends of mine and to anyone else that gets a chance to do business with Maria at this location. Amazing customer service and understanding how important it is to the customer when it comes to engagement or simply buying a small gift. Thank you again Maria for all the help and making Jenna's dream come true with the ring she wanted most. -James & Jenna (San Diego, CA)

This is an ongoing review because I'm not quite done with Herricks Jewelers. Technically I guess…read morethis review dates back more than just a little under this past year. My knowledge and involvement with Herricks Jewelers has been going on for quite some time and I'm happy to say it's been filled with positive experiences. So maybe most of my previous trips were for battery watches and small things like that, but when my (at the time) girlfriend and I were looking at engagement rings, I knew HJ had to be one of the places we go. The employees there make the experiences very personal and they're anything but pushy which you like from a small time local store (unlike Jared who tried to get me to buy a ring on our first trip ever looking!). I'll say that intimate touch takes things very far because I felt comfortable in wanting to purchase my (now) fiancée's ring here. As important as the staff is, price will almost always be a bigger factor when it comes to jewelry. At Herricks Jewelers I really feel/felt like I was getting my money's worth and at a respectable price. This was accurate after her ring was appraised for a nice chunk more than what I paid. Herricks was also great at taking care of any little snafus we had with the ring (diamond placement, size, ring color). This did take some emailing and back and forth, but none of these needs were charged as they really wanted to get the ring right for us. Overall, Herricks Jewelers has been around for a long time and I hope it stays that way. With a friendly and trustworthy staff, formidable prices, and a decent selection of jewelry, it's tough to turn down a trip here. As stated, this review is ongoing because we'll be coming back soon to take a look at wedding bands!

Bucherer - They no longer service Shinola...

I had a genuinely disappointing experience at Bucherer…read more I walked in fully prepared to make a serious purchase. I wasn't just casually browsing -- I had done my research, narrowed down models, and was ready to spend a significant amount of money on a luxury watch. This wasn't window-shopping. It was a real buying visit. Instead, I was met with indifference. Several sales associates were gathered together talking among themselves. Not a quick internal discussion -- actual socializing. I walked the floor, looked at displays, and stood near the counter more than long enough to be acknowledged. No greeting. No "Can I help you?" Nothing. What made it worse was that their attention clearly shifted when other people walked in -- particularly women -- while I remained invisible despite being ready to transact. In luxury retail, service is supposed to be part of the experience. If you're selling five-figure timepieces, the baseline expectation is attentiveness and professionalism. The irony is that they likely missed out on a very real sale that day. I came prepared to spend a substantial amount, and I left with my money still in my pocket. There are too many other authorized dealers and boutiques that understand customer engagement for me to chase someone down just to give them my business. When a store loses a ready buyer because staff would rather chat than sell, that's not a small oversight -- that's revenue walking out the door. I hope management takes this seriously, because luxury pricing demands luxury service. On this visit, it simply wasn't there.

What's with the name change??…read more When I worked in NYC, how I came to know the brand was the small Tourneau shop on the corner of 7th by Penn Station. Now it's Bucherer Roosevelt Field, a well respected name in the industry. I've been coming to this location for watch batteries and Rolex tune ups. The technicians on staff are certified to work on many different brands of watches. Except they no longer service Shinola. (I went to the other watch place in the mall) While browsing around the store while waiting for them to find my watch from repair, I noticed the sales people were very courteous and professional. They said the store offers a watch trade in policy and secure the financing. It's nice to know I don't have to travel into NYC to purchase high end and quality brands.

Avoid Ralph at All Costs - Incompetent and Dishonest…read more I'm writing this from the courthouse where I've just filed a lawsuit against Ralph. That alone should tell you everything you need to know. I brought my father's watch to Ralph for a simple gasket replacement. It's a diving watch he wore while serving in the military, and I'm heading to Ukraine to serve myself--I wanted to wear the watch in his honor. I chose Ralph because of the many glowing reviews online. Big mistake. The first red flag was the overwhelming smell of marijuana in his shop. I dismissed it at the time, thinking maybe it helped him focus on delicate work. I couldn't have been more wrong. When I first brought the watch in, it was functioning well--just running about a minute slow each day. All I asked was for Ralph to replace two gaskets. We agreed on $200, which was all I could afford as I won't be working for the next six months during service in Ukraine. For such a basic job, it was a fair price. A day later, I called to ask if he could look into the cost of a new crystal. After not hearing back for a couple of days, I followed up--only to be told he had already replaced the crystal for $150 without my consent. When I told him I wouldn't have agreed to that, he flew into a rage, yelling about how he wasn't making enough on the job. It became clear to me he may have serious issues, possibly substance-related. When I finally went to pick up the watch, the bezel no longer turned. Ralph claimed I had damaged it myself, which I hadn't. Then I noticed the self-winding mechanism wasn't working. He insisted it was fine, despite clear evidence to the contrary. It was rubbing against the back plate. I stormed out taking my watch, but later returned, hoping he would take responsibility. After more yelling and resistance, he begrudgingly agreed to take another look. Weeks passed. My departure date for Ukraine got closer. Today, 2 days day before I leave, Ralph texts to say the watch is ready. I go in--and unbelievably, it's in worse condition than before. The winding mechanism is not working as it should. The bezel now turns, but it could easily be roomed with a thumbnail. I walked out refusing to pay. This time, he followed me outside, becoming aggressive. I told him I would see him in court. Later that day, I went to another, far more competent watch repair professional. He opened the case and immediately found the issue: the movement wasn't seated properly, and the retaining ring was missing. I know that was there when I gave it to him because I open the watch myself to see what gaskets were needed. Without it, the entire mechanism is unstable. If a replacement can be found, the watch might be salvageable. But it's an older model, and chances are slim. This isn't just a watch--it's a deeply sentimental piece of my family's history. And it's also quite valuable. Ralph, if you're reading this: You know exactly what happened. That retaining ring didn't vanish on its own. It's either still in your shop or you carelessly threw it away. I don't forget things like this, and I'm not letting it go. Ever. To anyone considering trusting him with something valuable: Don't. The reviews are misleading. My experience was a disaster, and now I'm left with a broken watch and a legal battle just days before leaving. Also, take a moment to read the negative reviews--those are the accurate ones. Many people have had experiences similar to mine. And look at his responses: full of excuses, never accountability. He clearly lacks the ability to take personal responsibility. Pathetic. Take a look at the photo I've attached. You can see at nine and 10 o'clock the space between the watch face and the case itself.

I dropped off my Panerai and Omega for polishing on Thursday and received a call on Monday that…read morethey were ready for pickup. Both watches were restored to mint condition-- the Omega had significant scratches and the Panerai had a ding, all of which were flawlessly repaired (check attached pictures). Excellent service at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
