Viva Vertical!
This is a cool piece of art right at the entrance of Chapultepec Park- it's a huge (3-4 story?) vertical garden, covered in plants. It looks like a bent snake, or a series of gates that hang over Chapultepec Avenue. It's an inviting place, that seems to be a good place to finish a marathon at, with the natural gate to run through!
It's covered in so many different plants-grasses, ferns, flowers...
It's an attractive addition to Chapultepec Avenue, but I don't know how they'd keep people from climbing on it.
Mexico City has previously had a real problem with air pollution, and this is a great measure to capture some of that carbon dioxide, and beautify the place while they're at it. I wish that they would put more of these in cities around the world! The design is made from recycled materials, and rainwater harvesting and solar panels! read more
