I would totally recommend getting a map to get the full experience. I believe there is bike and kayak rentals there which I totally plan on checking out. If I had a choice between walking or biking I would choose to bike just to see as much as this place as possible. :) I saw people there with pets so I'm assuming it's pet friendly.

Paseo de Canalejas is a park / promenade adjacent to the Plaza de San Juan de Dios. It is where the…read moremain Oficina Turismo de Cádiz is located. This is a popular hangout for locals and tourists alike. There are public bathrooms at one end, where it meets Plaza de San Juan de Dios. Across the street is the port area for Cádiz. This park is where the painted lines begin, for the tourism office's walking tours.

A great place to see the entire town of Cadiz from high above. The entry fee for just going up to…read morethe tower and sightsee was 5 euros. There are steep stairs to climb to get to the top, but the view was amazing...we could see the ocean, the parks, the castles, the old town, the port, and much more. There is a small history museum about 60% up as you come from the ticket lobby. This attraction also had a "camara oscura" but we did not do that.

Great view from the top. No elevator, so you must take steps all the way. Near the top, there is a…read moreroom with a big white "wok" bowl, and the city is projected into this bowl. There is a camera (lens) on top of the tower, and the person in the room (with the bowl) only allows a few guests at a time, and she takes you on a tour of the city. She did ours in English, and I could understand most of what she was saying. Once she was finished, she turned the lights back on, and we went to the top of the tower.
