Beverly Hills is a large and popular bar/restaurant occupying the ground floor of a former palació…read moreon the main Rambla in Vilanova. There's outdoor seating at the front on the Rambla itself, as well as in an attractive small garden at the rear. The décor is fairly plain, with automotive registration plates and film posters adorning the walls, in keeping with the Californian theme; and seating both at tables and along the bar.
It draws a mixture of young people and family groups, attracted by a reasonably extensive American-style menu of burgers and Tex-Mex food, supplemented by fries, salads, garlic bread and pasta dishes. Expect to pay around EUR6 for starters and side dishes and around EUR8 to EUR10 for mains. Desserts follow the US theme with apple pie, banana splits and chocolate brownies on offer, swathed in copious amounts of cream. Portions are reasonably generous so, despite the slightly high prices, it provides reasonable vaue for money.
Drinks include a reasonable range of beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and coffee, with the beer range including Guinness, Ambar lager and the stronger Export from Zaragoza on tap. Service was very friendly and reasonably efficient on our visit.
Although there's a small step at the entrance, there's reasonably level access throughout thereafter and a disabled toilet at the end of the garden (beside the other toilets). There's a ramp from the main bar area to the patio level.
I guess I'd naturally award it three stars on the basis that I'm not a burger and Tex-Mex aficionado, but for those who are, four stars are a better guide. So four it is.
