Excellent facility with a friendly staff. I always enjoy practicing there when I visit London.

Beautiful selection of pianos!! Their Fazioli Center is "dreamy" and I've fallen in love with their great selection of pianos.

One thing you learn as you grow up into adulthood is that your parents were probably right and…read morewiser about a lot of things than you perhaps gave them credit for at the time. One of the things I'm eternally grateful to my parents for is the fact that they made me finish all my piano exams at school, so that I can now play most music and I'm involved in the worship at church. My sister and I have a lovely upright piano at home with a wonderful rich sound but one of my secret drerams is to one day own a house big enough to house a baby grand piano. Until then, I have to content myself by wandering into places like Steinway Hall and metaphorically drool over the wonderful grand pianos in there They have a great selection of traditional non electronic grand pianos, most of which are priced in the 'serious treat to oneself' category! I've been too shy to have a tinkle in the shop so far but I then head down to Chappells in Soho to play on their electronic pianos, keyboards and traditional pianos. Steinway also hold free concerts, mainly on Wednesday evenings when you can hear these pianos being put through their paces If I ever get that house, I'll be back!

I'm a professional pianist who came all the way to London for a piano (from Pennsylvania USA). I was so complete turned off by this. Lucky for me my son recorded the entire thing (he'd been recording me playing in the hall) so I have recorded evidence of their "request". Well, I won't be buying a Steinway or any piano from this place, not after the snobbery I encountered whilst in London. I may be a nobody in their eyes, but someone else just got my business; in London of course.

I was visiting from US to London for two weeks and was considering buying a violin. After calling…read moreseveral other violin stores on Saturday JP Guivier &Co a pleasant helpful friendly woman answered the phone and helped me with information and an appointment on Monday morning. When I called Monday morning and talked with a friendly helpful understanding man to let them know that I could not keep the appointment (in addition to a new London Tube worker strike) he graciously understood and let me know that they would be glad to help me at another time. I really appreciated them being there, answering the phone on Saturday and graciously understanding my situation.

After being told that I had given them everything necessary to insure the instrument over the approval period (Photo ID and £20), I was called the next morning being told that the insurance company refused to insure the instrument as I had not given proof of address. I was then accused of being rude to the one out the employees after I informed them that no one had told me I needed proof of address. What's more annoying is that they requested that I had to bring the proof of address into the store and could not just email it to them. I then just returned the instrument as I was not interested in buying from someone that was not sure how to insure instrument properly without me making 3 trips.
