They installed gutters on my two story home last Fall. When the wind blows the gutters shake and make a lot of noise. They came once to fix the gutters on the first floor. I made several appointments for them to come back with a lift to fix the second story gutters but they failed to show several times. Their warranty department does not respond. You need to call 10 times before you can reach a live person as they do not return voicemails. Find someone else for your gutters. read more

ICYNENE SPRAY FOAM IMPROPERLY INSTALLED...LED TO MOLD! Jansen installed Icynene spray foam insulation in our $1,200,000 "custom" home. A little over one year later we discovered mold in our attic. Jansen had installed the insulation improperly and the result was sweating air conditioning ductwork that dripped onto the overhead sheetrock. After a year of fighting with the builder this debacle ended up costing ME over $25,000. Both the builder and Jansen refused to pay for my assessment and remediation expenses. My lawyer tells me it will cost more to sue than it's worth. Amazingly, in our neighborhood of million dollar homes, EVERY ONE tested failed the "blower door test" that determines if the spray foam was properly installed. Jansen & Sons Insulation - MOLD CAUSED BY FAULTY INSULATION - Gutter Services Near Me - Venice, Florida

CLOSET SYSTEM FELL COMPLETELY OFF THE WALL! We had Jansen install a custom, master, walk-in closet system just a little over 2 years ago for $2,300. Three days ago, one wall of the system just completely fell off the wall in a pile of shelving, poles, brackets, screws, and my good clothing. Had either I or my dog been in the closet when it came down, we could have been seriously injured. The system was being used exactly as intended, for hanging clothes, which I keep very organized and neat. One of the other two remaining walls of the system also look to be weak, as the wall of double-hanging poles and shelving is bowed. Also, one of the 24" wide, floor-to-ceiling shoe shelving units wiggles back and forth as if it is not attached to anything. I'm afraid to walk into my own closet. When I called Jansen on the day it happened, the woman who answered the phone said their guarantee is ONE YEAR, and there was nothing they could do. She gave me someone's voicemail at the company, and I left a message, but nobody called back on that day. We have since called several other custom closet companies in the Sarasota area, and every one of them has a full LIFETIME WARRANTY on both the system and the installation. Three days after my initial call to them, Jansen's rep did finally call back and asked if he could come by and take a look. While I'm glad they finally figured out they probably have some responsibility in this case, I think telling me I was out of luck when I first called and then taking three days to come to their senses was extremely poor judgment and extremely poor customer service. At first, I scheduled a time for their rep to come by, but after thinking it over, I called and cancelled. I don't want them to repair it because I don't trust their installation expertise and because the resulting fix would also have only that one year warranty. My recommendation is NEVER use Jansen and Sons for custom closet installations. Had a SIGNED work order with Jansen and Sons to remove our old cellulose insulation and to spray foam our attic. We also have a home in Michigan and purchased tickets to fly down to allow staff in the home for installation. The scheduled day for the installation was October 30th 2019. While waiting for the scheduled date, I emailed our salesman, Matt with what I believe to be very reasonable questions. Anyone having this product sprayed into their attic should do the same. After the email was delivered on October 7th, 2019 for review, Matt told me he would forward it to management and that they would call me to address the issues. On October 14th, 2019 (a week later) I spoke with Matt who told me that "management," based on my questions, essentially classified me a "liability" and decided NOT to do the job!!!! Not only did the signed agreement mean NOTHING to them, management, for lack of a better term told me to PACK SAND!! WOW!!!! Talk about standing by your product, huh? Here are the questions I asked. What do you think? 1. Is the spray insulation a potential health hazard to my family? Even after the 24 hour period? 2. Is there any formaldehyde in the chemicals used? 3. Am I guaranteed that should there be any emission of toxic fumes in the air after the 24 hour period has elapsed, will Jansens stand by their work to REMOVE the insulation? (Even after the 1 year warranty) 4. Should mold develop as a result of the spray (as indicated in a Yelp review by a customer), will Jansens stand by their work to repair or even REMOVE the insulation? (Even after the 1 year warranty) 5. Are ALL of your installers Certified Spray Foam Installers? 6. Should there be any damage to my HVAC system, electrical wiring/ fixtures, my plumbing and or my ceilings will Jansens repair all damages? 7. After the spray is in, will I be able to fully access wires, plumbing and HVAC lines? On October 15th, 2019 I spoke with Alan, who identified himself as the manager. He reached out to me and asked if I would consider another product (draw your own conclusions on THAT one). He also asked if I had someone else to do the job. I replied that at this time I did not. Believe it or not, he actually asked me if I wanted some referrals for other companies??? Again, draw your own conclusions from that. I advised Alan the reason I posed the questions was because of horror stories of improperly installed spray foam on the internet (YouTube: "SPRAY FOAM INSULATION NIGHTMARE: WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY (CBC MARKETPLACE)." To Alans credit, he was very polite and explained the process to give me a much more solid reassurance that the product was everything I initially thought it was. Jansen and Sons may do hundreds of jobs each year, but I don't believe THIS is the way to conduct business!! Maybe I should apologize for having my families health as a concern. BOTTOM LINE: Stand by your work, your product and your employees abilities! You shouldn't be scared away from potential customers posing relevant questions. 1 1/2 stars given only because of their receptionists and Matt who were very courteous and professional.
