I've chosen Amsterdam Plastic Surgery primarily based on the perceived experience of Dr. Pirayesh, expecting an engaging and informative consultation session. I asked general information about a PRP facial, emphasizing my concerns with respect to skin texture improvement, enlarged pores, and fine milia. Dr. Pirayesh explained the standard procedure and showed me a relevant photograph. He went on to advise a number of additional interventions for other facial flaws, gave me a couple of brochures and concluded the session. A number of things went wrong for me in the process. Sales pitch vs. intake - I am expected to pay a full fee for an intake in which no adequate questions were asked. Allergies weren't addressed, I wasn't asked whether I have previous experience of any relevant procedures. Possible risks weren't analyzed. What I want to improve on my skin wasn't explored in depth. My face/skin were examined under a dim light from behind an office desk. I walked out with a couple of brochures instead of a personal plan. €75 for 15-minutes - Deducing my late arrival to be the reason of the short-intake, had I been informed of the standard procedure appropriately, I would certainly reschedule, cancel, or simply book an additional intake. I called the front desk before the regular appointment time to inform that I'll be 20 minutes late. It was made clear to me that this bore no problem. Intake duration came acutely short. Hair salon vs. doctor's clinic - I asked for information on a PRP facial - not facelift-, with sole concerns of skin texture, enlarged pores and fine milia around eyes. I've received advice for numerous additional flaws on my face, accompanied by procedures i.e. fillers, Botox. There was a total lack of in-depth exploration of what the patient wanted to improve. Intake was a session of series of unsolicited advice with sales orientation. Attitude - While all of the aforementioned is some function of attitude, I was given more of it. When I asked whether there is any financial incentive to commit to a series of procedures in advance, I was told that "APS doesn't offer bargains". Exploring relevant financial information for a medical procedure is separate from asking for a "discount" or looking for a "bargain". Level of response was acutely unprofessional. TL;DR: 1. Acutely substandard communication from front desk to doctor. 2. Primary orientation is sales. They will do whatever you ask and offer more. This is how a hair salon works. Not a doctor. 3. Fishy.

This was the only place in the area that offered the service. I immediately called and asked if I could swing by later in the day. The lady that assisted me over the phone ws extremely polite and was able to give me an appointment which I greatly appreciated at such short notice. As soon as I arrived, I noticed the sleek decor and cleanliness of the office which made me more comfortable. I was greeted and escorted to the back by one of the nurses. I forget his name but he was very nice. He explained the process to me, asked which treatment I wanted and got it ready. He was very informative and took his time setting me up. The whole process took less than an hour. He unhooked me and I made my way back to the front where I paid my bill. It's not a cheap experience ($200 to be exact) but I did feel better. I noticed they also offer other services such as cosmetic procedures. So if you are in the area and need a boost from hard partying, exhaustion, dehydration or illness, this is a good place to get IV Vitamin therapy.

Was it the weed soaked wind brushing through my smiling face ever morning biking to work? Or perhaps the gezonde broodje... wasn't gezond at all.... Whatever the cause, I had some maaaajor hair loss after coming to Amsterdam. I got a buzz cut, starting wearing hats and despite knowing better, I grew out the sides so I could cover the top. Well... that was until I discovered the Hair Science Institute. One of the few institutes in the world that does hair stemcell transplants and not just hair t-plants. As cheesy as this almost commercial-like Yelp review sounds, I'm a very happy customer from HSI! Making my first trek over to the Zuid, where the HSI stands, I was nervous. If you've also been in a balding predicament, you've all probably done the same research as I. The are other options; some painful, some cheaper, but in the end , I chose HSI. So here I stand at the front door, not knowing what to expect.... I ring the door bell and as soon as the thick double doors opened, I could hear my surviving hair follicles sigh in relief. This place is amazing! Looks like a high tech doctor's office, the people are super nice and really welcoming. You might be thinking... Dennis... kom op! They are just being nice because they want your money. Be that as it may, I really like the guys here. It reminds me of a family clinic like Full House meets Greys Anatomy. After a quick consultation answering all my questions, I KNEW this was the place. Even for the indecisive, the professionals at HSI can give you recommendations for treatment options. You also might be thinking it's too expensive. In some cases, they can give you a huuuuuuge discount if you allow trainees to do some of the implants. It doesn't reduce quality - it just takes more time. During the treatment, I felt like I was at a spa! Your head is basically numb so it just feels like a massage against your now dry leathery scalp. I got to watch movies and eat whatever I wanted through the day and when I left, I was refreshed, looking like a monk, and now with a new scalp. It's now three days post-treatment and as soon as I get some before and after pictures, I'll post them here. Either way, GREAT place and really happy with my choice! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go by some hairnets for my future afro.
