I'm just sitting here, *evoking* travel. Man, remember trips? I miss them so…read more My husband has this ridiculous habit. It's bougie as hell, and he thinks he's soooo cool everytime he does it. I guess he kind of is. Maybe. No matter where we are in the world, on the last day, he takes a few hours to himself to revisit a couple of his favourite spots. These spots often include stores, and without fail he always swipes plastic. It's like he panics about never returning and needing a piece of the trip... and he always picks something fancy, and often challenging to pack. On a recent holiday to Sayulita, like clockwork, on the last day my husband golf carted to Evoke The Spirit. We'd been in this stunning store a few times and he returned for the goods. In our case, a beautiful sand-coloured vase that now sits in our dining room. In your case, who knows! But I do know, whether you want to spend or just stare, you'll love this store.

I've always been against the idea of purchasing a skull to be hung in my house. I'm not into hunting. I think skulls are pretty aggressive usually. Their skulls though... they are BEAUTIFUL. To make something so dreamy out of something so harsh is really unbelievable. And another thing that has be going against my nature: their ash trays make me want to take up smoking... it should be illegal. I'm not going to say another word about this heavenly shop, go see it for yourself! It's an absolute must see!

Four months after installation the glass doors of the Smeg oven literally fell out. I contacted High End and a Smeg repair person came out and told me that the entire oven door needs to be replaced and that the part would take 4 weeks to order; that was 4 1/2 months ago. I attempted to go to the Profeco to lodge a complaint and was told I could not submit a claim without a factura - despite my having the original receipt and a copy of my credit card statement showing the charges from High End Kitchens. I immediately returned to High End Kitchens and asked for a copy of the factura and was told by Dolores the owner that the records are being stored off premises and that she would email me a copy of the factura the following day. That was a month ago. After 4 months of excuses I think it is time to hire an attorney to represent my interests. I understand that one needs to be more patient in Mexico than the US however I feel the treatment I am receiving from High End Kitchens is is unethical and possibly illegal.

This store had good reviews and it was recommended by some locals that it was worth visiting. The store is about 15 min away from Dreams resort. The owner of Cristal is super kind and helped me out. Loved all the different type of cups i bought and also an appetizer tray. The last time I bought hand blown glass wear was many moons ago in Cabo and I had only one left from the 6 that I bought. Can't wait to try the new ones out at home. They are gorgeous and always remind me of Mexico every time I use them. My fav is the navy blue trim water glasses with the dimples on the side. This store had the most beautiful selection of lots of things. I wish I could have bought more!! But hubby was getting mad cause of bringing it home on plane. They pack it so nice and protective with bubble wrap and padding for safe traveling back home. Don't forget to tip the packer. Muchas Gracias!!

We initially thought that Sofas & Sillones would be a good company to assist us in our remodel. They had a design style that appealed to us and the examples of furniture in their showroom were comfortable. We ordered a combination of furniture within their catalog, furniture that they said they could order for us, and custom designed furniture to meet our specific needs. It was a disaster from start to... well, it's still a disaster. After a year, we are still missing furniture. We did get some furniture. If it was within their catalog, they were able to build furniture that was adequate. If you deviate at all, beware. We asked for a more comfortable down stuffing for the cushions, but the structure of their cushions won't support down. We will have to get them replaced. We had a number of issues with delivery - we had placed an order to be delivered in time for a family visit for the holidays, and made it clear that's when we needed the furniture. We had a full house, but S&S was not able to deliver, despite repeated assurances that everything would be fine. We were not able to seat our family for holiday dinner. Everything that we had custom built was built poorly and had to be rebuilt. Multiple times. If you use them at all, only get standard furniture - nothing custom built. Do not rely on S&S for any design services. They have shown no skill in being able to help you with your design. If you don't know what you want, they won't be able to help you. The associate we worked with provided advice... advice that we accepted, and later had to redo. They have no design skills. Also, they are horrible at communication. They cannot deliver on time, if there's an issue, they do not communicate that, and if they need to fix something, you will be in the dark until they decide to contact you. We've had them show up to deliver or pick up something with no communication whatsoever. They make delivery and rework decisions without letting us know. We designed a simple marble table. We worked with them to make sure that they understood what we wanted, and they assured us that they could build it. The first time they built and delivered it, they specifically built it in a way that the opposite of what we agreed. They took it back, and rebuilt it the way that we had agreed, but did it in such an unacceptable way, we had to return it for a second time. They built it again, and with the same unacceptable quality, and we returned it a third time. They built it again, and with the same unacceptable quality, and we returned it a fourth time. We have yet to receive the fifth iteration of this one simple table. We placed our order in July 2019. It's October 2020, and we still do not have a table, and we still do not even have a date of when we will receive it, and they refuse to give us a refund. Be sure to check out other furniture providers before settling on Sofas & Sillones. If you select them, be sure to triple check your agreement, expect delays, and expect to have your furniture rebuilt multiple times. And don't expect any professional design services - they are not capable. We recommend you go anywhere other than Sofas & Sillones.

I have been here on both my trips to Puerto Vallarta and not realize it was two shops until I got my credit card bill. That said. This review is for the pewter side. I was walking down the street headed for lunch at an area food stand when a nice pewter nativity caught my eye, it was a nice size for packing and I was fairly certain that my mother would like it. This visit I only showed to the back of the metal area as I had bought from the glass shop the day before. Coming in from the back street it was a few minutes before I realized it was part of the same larger shop. Besides pewter they have some boxes made from what appears to be tin. And some souvenir type items like magnets. It is all quite nice. bowls, boxes, large and smaller nativity sets...the list goes on. The prices seemed quite reasonable to me. In the end I bought two of the nativities, my seems to really like hers and I like mine as well, I also picked up a metal (tin?) Box that I liked and a couple of magnets, the bill came to $38 on my visa bill. It's not the cheapest place to pick up a souvenir but their stuff is nice. It's a nice shop. (if you're coming from Bassilo Badillo it is off the big glass shop on the corner a bit past and across the street from the large OXXO. Oh and one more thought, everything was well wrapped for my trip home. Without me even asking. Just like at the glass place (minus the newspaper.)

On the corner of Calles Carranza and Vallarta in Old Town, Taxco Exporta Jewelry is one such shop. I affectionately nicknamed my GF "Mexico's favorite customer" because despite being in a culture where commerce is based on negotiation, she cannot help but pour over merchandise with glee, exclaiming "It's SO BEAUTIFULLLL!!!" And yeah, I'm pretty much fugazi at that point. Bargaining position: blown! So was the sitch at Taxco Exporta Jewelry. We were drawn inside by the dramatic silver sculpted animals and mermaids and found lots of pretty, sparkly things to delight her. The sculpted work in particular is astounding and powerful. We spoke with Eric (pronounced the Spanish way), who explained that the larger pieces are bonded silver over a porcelain figurine, touched up in places with paint. The results are stunning. My GF tried on some beautiful pieces, necklaces and really large rings, mainly. Prices are in USD and, while low by US standards, still exceeded our souvenir budget. We'd already picked up a ring by Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante, which she absolutely loves. Eric did try his best to find a price that would suit us for the piece she liked the most because, you know, it was "SO BEAUTIFULLLL!!!", lol. It just wasn't the right time for us. On our next visit to PV, it's likely we will bring some more USD and revisit Taxco Exporta!
