Walking around the Mainz marktplatz on a very cold winters day we stopped in at Jamy's Burger for lunch. The outside is very nice with large glass windows over looking the platz. They have a bit of seating outside that would be lovely in warmer weather.
A host greeted us at the door and sat us in one of the big glass front windows. It was a bright, sunny nook that seats four. The table is suspended from the ceiling with a bench seat on either side. Menu's were on a small clip board if I am remembering correctly. Silverware is on the table in a heavy mug as you often see in German restaurants.
We started with a bottle of still water, a hot tea (much needed on this frigid day) and a beer. That hot tea was beautifully presented and excellent quality. Our burgers were well cooked. Lettuce and tomato very fresh. Bun soft. This is an all together good burger and fries.
The lower level offers half dozen tables, but upstairs is a large dining area. Restrooms are upstairs as well. Kitchen is open to the lower level dining area. It seems that staff take care of all the tables as a team. We didn't get a lot of 'checking-in' during our meal which is usual. If we needed someone, there was always a team member in sight.
The interior is very cozy with lots of greenery, a modern feel and clean. Staff are well trained and do speak a bit of English. The burgers are well cooked and overall ingredient quality is good. Parking is on nearby streets or parking garage. We would return. read more
