Best Criminal Defense Lawyer!…read more James Burns has represented my daughter on several cases and was able to get a positive outcome and cases dismissed. I would recommend the James Burns as a lawyer to represent as Criminal Defense Attorney. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, quite patient, very comforting, and exceptionally professional. With his experience and expertise in the criminal law system of FL and specifically the Pensacola/Walton area, he gave me a realistic and honest view of what my daughter would be looking at for her particular situation. He laid everything out for us in a point-blank manner. No sugar coating - which is what is needed when it comes to criminal defense. He provided the best- and worst-case scenarios and I knew from our first meeting that he would do everything in his power to ensure the most positive outcome possible for us. And he delivered! He will work aggressively on your behalf. He assured me during my initial consultations with him that these cases would be dismissed, and they were. I can tell you this, if he tells you not to worry then you do not need to worry. He gives you his personal cell phone number and tells you to call him anytime. He ALWAYS returned my calls and texts. He explained how these cases and the court proceedings would work in language that I could understand and listened, answered, and checked in regularly and explained the importance for a positive outcome. I HIGHLY recommend James Burns. I will say this--before you call the rest--call the BEST--James Burns.

We researched dozens of local criminal defense lawyers, choosing the most promising to talk with in person. Mr. Griffith was high on the list with an extremely high peer rating and awards, and when making a consult appointment with him on the phone, he said "I hope you hire me." In person, he was personable and polite, not arrogantly or foolishly optimistic nor cynically defeatist. He was confident about his knowledge and if he didn't know something he'd find out without faking it. I was scared and needy; calling or visiting with questions, requests, or to verify court dates and times(recommended), and always got help ASAP. My case was ugly; child porn. Not guilty, but the accusation destroys lives and defense usually gives up or loses even when innocent. It took more than two years, we didn't give up, and we didn't lose. That took a lot of patience, effort, and skill on the part of Mr. Griffith and his helpful staff. Of dozens of lawyers we researched and the ten we saw, I'm very glad we chose Mr Griffith.

It's the Semmes Law Firm at his office in Foley, but they also have an office in Fairhope. Marc and the ladies here are very friendly, patient and make you feel welcome. But most importantly Marc himself is very personal, is a good listener and knows his stuff. He spent a lot of time with us, discussing our needs and what we wanted to accomplish with trusts, wills, powers of attorney, etc. always looking to the future and planning for most of the potential variables that would reflect us and eventuay our beneficiaries. The time spent was very gracious, he answered every one of our questions, made some excellent recommendations, and the cost overall was very fair, indeed less than anticipated. We are very pleased with the outcome. Bottom line: For a smart personar guy that really listens to your situation and has answers, I highly recommend Semmes Law Firm and Marc Semmes. https://semmeslaw.com/ Important note: all of the GPS apps including Google maps will not bring you to the correct address for this office.
