Now he retired and switched insurances to AmBetter and not 1 Dr in that office accepts that insurance. Now he has to find another Dr. This is getting to be something else.

I have seen him for the last 11 years since I had the surgery and he makes sure to supply knowledge and offer counseling through their office if needed. I would like to take the time to recognize a wonderful person on the Summa Bariatric Care team-Dr…read more Kenneth Wells. I have known Dr. Wells since his residency days at Summa. He rotated periodically through the physicians office that I worked in. I came to not only like him personally, but to also respect his professionally. The physicians that I worked for regarded him so highly that they wanted him to change his specialty from internal medicine to cardiology and then join their practice. I think that speaks volumes about Dr. Wells and his abilities. Dr. Wells did choose to remain with internal medicine and opened his own private practice with Dr. Uhall. I immediately became a patient of his and had both of my parents switch their care over to him because of my faith in him. He took care of both of my parents until their passing, He was a tremendous source of strength to me in helping me with their care. I was deeply saddened when he chose to leave private practice because it is almost impossible to find a physician of his caliber anymore. When I was trying to make a decision on which local bariatric program to choose for my care, I discovered that Dr. Wells had recently accepted the position as the Medical Director of the Summa program. I knew immediately that my search was over. I knew I would receive no finer care in any other program than I would by Dr. Wells. Dr. Wells never let me down on his care in the bariatric program. I will always highly recommend Dr. Wells to everyone. He is a good and decent man and an excellent physician. My only concern for Dr. Wells is, that I noticed over time, that they were making his schedule increasingly busy and difficult for him to be able to spend the kind of time that he wanted to with each patient. Dr. Wells knows that each patient requires individual care and time and he wants to be able to give that to each patient. This is not his fault, but I have no doubt that he continues to do the best possible job he can given what he has to work with. I will always be one of Dr. Wells' biggest fans!

Pro: 1) The physicians. I personally have been a patient of both physicians for years. Dr Borges is a very pleasant and knowledgeable professional. Dr Distel is down to earth, easy to talk to and always there. 2) Wide range of services available: family medicine, sports medicine, blood draws, wellness checks and sports physicals just to name a few. 3) Close to other services: Wadsworth Rittman Hospital, radiology, lab and other testing providers. 4) Can usually get in within 24-48 hrs from calling to make appointment. 5) Personable staff 6) Clean facility Con: 1) Very inefficient 2) Long waits do to overbooking 3) Poor follow through of communication and follow up regarding testing results. The patient needs to be ever diligent and persistent. The office should contact you not the other way around.

They were really good about setting up a quick appointment for me since I was out of my meds. They do not shy away from treating people with all types of conditions. They really are caring people and treat you like a family member not a chart. They worked with me through appointments and have helped me through every step of the way. They now have me on the correct meds I should be on and have me in what I consider the best shape I been in. The main person I deal with is Meredith Pressnell. She is a great person and a great nurse practitioner. I would highly recommend anyone that is looking for a doctor that listens to your concerns and treats you right to check this place out. His staff is friendly and ready to help. They always find an appoingment that works with your schedule. He also works from a location nearer my home, but I choose to see him in this office because there is no waiting. He isn't stingy with his time while always being there on time for my appointment. He orders a few more tests than I'd like but better safe than sorry. I am happy to be his patient and will recommend him.
