There has never been a time in the past 15 years when I have called and needed to get my children seen that they have not made it work that day. Any request for documentation or additional needs is handled immediately and with the most exceptional customer service. This practice by far has exceeded my expectations, which is why I will always take my children here. Kudos to this practice for being such a competent and compassionate group of professionals!

If this review keeps just one person from going to this office, I'll be happy. I'll start by saying…read morethis review is over a year and a half in the making. We moved to the area when my oldest son was 3 and my second had just turned 1. My first and smallest grievance is once the kids hit 12 months old at this office, they "have" to do the vaccines in the arms. Even if requested to put them in the legs. Which was a nightmare for my boys, they couldn't sleep at night, and they were sore for a few days. When they got them done in their legs at another office, they were fine by that night. But this office is adamant that they get them in the arms, no exception. My second issue is in regards to the quality of the office staff. They are awful. Just awful. When my oldest son ended up needing an urgent and unexpected oral surgery. To which he needed to get cleared by a pediatrician (not a nurse or PA). This office was adamant that he could only see the NP (which is really who you mostly see at this office. I'm still confused as to what the actual pediatrician even does), so I asked the surgeon if he could see the NP and she said it had to be a pediatrician. They wouldn't let me schedule a sick child visit because he still hadn't seen the pediatrician for a well child visit yet. Which wasn't until March and the surgery was needed in December. Anyway, after like 3 phone calls they got me set up with an appointment with the pediatrician, then they called me back 5 minutes later and cancelled it and said that the appointment had to be with the NP. I was furious at this point, I had just spent the whole day in the ER with my 3 year old, and found out he needed surgery and this office was less than helpful and added hugely to my burden. So I started frantically researching other offices to go to where he could actually see a pediatrician, but then they called me and informed me that they spoke with the surgeon office and said that they just okayed him seeing the NP. So I just thought whatever I'll let it go. By this time I gave birth to my third child where I found out that the pediatrician doesn't come to the hospital, another downside (like I said early, so what does she do?). Then when I took my one week old in for the weigh in, the first thing the nurse did when she saw my newborn baby girl was bust up laughing (like loud belly laughing) and said "SHE LOOKS JUST LIKE AN OLD MAN!!! HAHAHA!!" And I just kinda smiled and said, "yeah, a lot of newborns look like potatoes" just to kinda shake it off. (Like I said, the staff is awful) She continued laughing and said "she looks like one of those old men, six guys back in the deli line at Riley's just super ticked off!!" And just kept laughing. I was mortified, and my hormones were raging from just having a baby, so I was doing my best to hold back tears because this nurse had just told me my sweet little girl looked like an old man. The pic of professionalism and horrific bedside manners are appalling. The final straw for me began when I took my baby in for her one month well child visit. I signed in, and the receptionist looked at the paper then whispered to someone and then she asked me if I had my daughters insurance card. To which I replied, "no, she's barely a month old." Then she was like "well the office manager will talk to you then." Let me add, I never had this issue with my first two AND I called my insurance previous to giving birth to her and they said she is covered under me up to a year. A YEAR. So the manager comes out and explains that my month old needs her own physical card. I said "we haven't even gotten her birth certificate yet. She just barely turned a month old." Let me also add that her tone was very condescending. She then said "have you even called your insurance?" And I said "yes, they informed me that she's covered under me for a year, but once I get the birth certificate they can get me a card." Then she told me that her appointment wouldn't be covered because she didn't have her own card. I had my two boys with me (4 and 2), there were a couple other people in the waiting room, and she was treating me like I was stupid. So I just said "okay, well she doesn't really need this appointment anyway. She is healthy and it's just basically a weigh in, I'll come back when she has a card." And she kinda sighed and was like "we'll let it slide this time I guess." So we did her appointment, then I received a bill a week later for it. I was furious and decided I had put up with far more than enough. Shortly after I received the bill, I requested to have my kids records transferred, which they can't just fax, "because they only have one fax machine" (SO GET MORE!! You're a doctors office!!) so I had to go in and physically take my 3 kids stacks of paperwork to a different office. Of the year and a half that we were there, we saw the actual pediatrician twice. She's awkward and not confident. But not as terrible as the rest of the staff. Go ANYWHERE else!

Terrible experience every time I've been there. I feel very fortunate that I will no longer be with…read morethem. Our first appointment was with Dr. Khankan, she was genuinely nice and asked multiple valid questions as well as answered all of our questions. The only thing that my husband and I don't like was that she did a test on our daughter for hip dysplasia; however, the validity for that test isn't beyond 6 months, my daughter was 9 months at the time. My husband did an orthopedic residency and had a few months with pediatrics and was able to recall that the test she used wasn't supposed to be used for infants greater than 6 months of age. And X-ray was ordered, I hate to put my daughter through that just because she found a "clicking" with the test that she used. As we assumed, our daughter was fine but had to go to the hospital for an X-ray unnecessarily. It's probably a good thing to err on the side of caution, but it was just extra work for my daughter that was not needed. Next, at one year old we were switched to Meghan NP as dr. khankan has reduced her hours. Meghan the NP was a waste of time, we waited about an hour to see her even though no one was in the waiting room. She didn't answer any of our questions. She didn't seem like she knew the milestones of infants and toddlers well enough. The nurse of medical tech didn't measure our daughter correctly with weight and height. It was just a terrible experience. I had to return again today to get the second part of the flu vaccine for my daughter and had to wait 45 minutes after my appointment time to get a shot that took less than a few seconds. They use bandaids that are extremely sticky on kids skin as well, not for kiddos with sensitive skin. The front desk gal is nice; however, the checkout lady with a hijab is rude. She also at some point offered us a pretzel, however my daughter just turned one and has two teeth, no way she could eat that. Overall, terrible organization in office. If my husband ran his clinic in this manner, no one would go to him. If this is the only place covered through your jnsurance, I highly recommend Dr. Khankan and to skip on NP as she was terrible.
