I have been seeing Dr. Mangat for over a year as I've developed severe allergies to apparently…read moreeverything in Central Oregon. It was so bad I had to sleep sitting up and I would wake up at night, choking on mucus. The care and attention I have received from the Dr and the staff has been so reassuring, attentive, and personalized. After completing the scratch test in the office, it was determined that I could either try steroids or immunotherapy. I chose the shots (immunotherapy). The doctor mixed a serum and I began treatments 2x weekly. I'm terrified of needles and shots and the nursing staff, especially Renee, have been so lovely and patient with me. I won't say I love getting the shots (I have to get 3!), but I will say my anxiety level has gone down considerably (I don't break out in sweats anymore) and I no longer have to do meditation and psych myself up to go in. Even the lady who does the billing has been patient with explaining the exact cost and working out a payment plan for the treatments. Recently the doctor has reformulated my serum as I was having bad reactions, and although I didn't mind so much (my allergies have improved!), he wanted me to be as comfortable as possible through the process. It's this extra time and care that makes me so happy I chose this clinic!

The center doesn't communicate that there are incremental charges for injecting of the client's…read moreallergy serum that isn't included in the total amount for the allergy serum. The initial scheduling for the each allergy serum injection is bi-weekly and each visit involves an employee injecting the client with two injections. The center will then charge the client's insurance $32.00 for the visit - meaning that the clinic is placing a $16 cost for each needle that it uses to inject the client with an allergy serum that they have already purchases separately. A pack of 50 needles on Amazon is $19.99, so to charge $16/needle is a fraudulent charge to the insurance company. Any amount the insurance company doesn't charge is then charged to the client. However, the clinic will not notify the client after the first attempt to collect insurance that they need to cover the remaining amount. The level of injections that are required to follow the serum schedule can increases this incremental fee to $1000 or more. This practice is definitely predatory considering how much needles actually cost and the fact this cost isn't included in the serum fee charged to the client.

Her receptionist said she would let me know before she billed me for lab charges, but continued to bill me for lab charges without ever letting me know the amounts ahead of time. Just the thought of going in for an appointment caused me so much anxiety. She likes to focus on what she likes to focus on and not what your actual issues are. It's incredibly difficult to get an appointment and when I asked for a prescription for the Covid shot because it was required by the pharmacy I was going to get the shot at, I was told that I didn't need one by her office even though I included a screenshot from the pharmacy website saying that it was required.

None of this was stated at first communication, only when trying to schedule follow up. I'd have preferred to know this in deciding to go there in the first place. The front office person, April, is rude and defensive and takes no responsibility for lack of transparency about this instead blaming me for being frustrated. Customer service 101 is empathize, express basic understanding, deescalate. Her defensive customer service approach is the opposite: tell you she's worked there over 6 years (so?) tell you she "doesn't know Dr Higgins schedule one day to the next", tell you it's your fault for not knowing he's got 2 offices and travels, tells you you're rude for asking questions she doesn't like and hanging up on you because she can't manage her own reactivity. Dr Higgins is great and I liked him but due to his unavailability and April's personality issues and lack of customer service skills I'd suggest avoiding this office!

I was initially very nervous to go see him because of past experiences, but I was told by another clinic to go see Rich because in their words "he is the best Functional Medicine Doctor on the West Coast". From my first conversation with him, Rich has made me feel at ease, he actively listens, asks the right questions, and problem solves with me to find the most appropriate solution. Upon completion of a thorough questionnaire & eval, he pinpointed the root cause of my issue to be an allergy to gluten, dairy & a deficiency in a vit/min. He not only gave me the tools needed to make changes to diet, stress, sleep, self-care, relationships, etc; he supported me through each step. What I think is incredible about Rich, is that he takes a holistic approach. He not only treats the condition, it's underlying causes but he treats the whole person!!! He has not only been a doctor to me, but also a coach. He is kind, compassionate, extremely thorough & has excellent follow-through. Again, let me say that he is the BEST doctor!!
