If you're craving for Jamba Juice but it's not anywhere near where you are, your best yummy backup is The Big Chill. Not to say that one is lesser than the other, it's just it does have similarities. Either way, whichever you buy drinks from, you'll surely satisfy your thirst and taste buds. Whenever my family watches a movie in the Power Plant Mall, I either get coconut juice or have my regular Supercharger in The Big Chill. It has mango, strawberry and grape, 3 of my favorite fruits and has a blend of anti-oxidants, nutrients and amino acids so what's not to like? It tastes so good too! Don't let the striking green color make you think it tastes like bland vegetables because it doesn't. I've tasted their sandwiches too but they're nothing special. Green mango and pineapple paradise are delicious choices as well and I make it a point to couple them with Spirulina - which is a super food that is good for your immune system and rich in protein.

I still wanted a drink, so I was like, "why the hell not, I'll try it out." I ordered their Power Breakfast, which was oats and bananas. I fully expected to not really love it. Boy, was I wrong. I absolutely loved that thing. Obviously, it tasted like breakfast. I like eating fresh bananas, but normally, I dislike bananas in juices and shakes 'cause it stops tasting fresh. However, Big Chill's shake tastes like I'm eating the bananas. It's grinded just well enough so that there's no annoyingly huge chunks of ice that I hate when it comes to shakes or smoothies.

Fruit Magic is basically the first of it's kind in the juicing industry in the Philippines. Some juice bars or stalls have juices that taste artificial and use powder to flavor but Fruit Magic's juices are 100% natural, healthy and free from preservatives and chemicals. When I'm at the mall and I'm feeling thirsty, I always opt to drink something fresh and tasty. I love water but it can be boring sometimes, haha. Or when I'm at the gym in The Rockwell Club, I love eating and drinking at the Juice Bar (by Fruit Magic) after a strenuous workout. It's healthy and filling and I didn't waste my exercise because in other gyms, I cave and eat unhealthy after a workout. Since Fruit Magic is just beside the gym, I don't get tempted to eat bad food. They also have great sandwiches and pastas. I love the grilled chicken salad and tuna melt sandwiches and the spicy tuna or the carbonara pasta. For drinks, my favorites are the Fruzions. I've bought nothing else at this food court (other than a Jamaican Beef Pattie) and I won't need anything else, really, because a fruit shake is all I really need. And Fruitas does away with all the pretense and exorbitant price by just offering you your choice of fruit, ice, and simply syrup (hold the milk, please!) in a glass, all enough to give you a little mirth in this mad world. I'm not sure if it's the rapport we have built with my having bought almost the same green mango shake every time I go here, but the lady here is pretty nice, smiley, and cheeky, all good traits you'd want when being handed your fruit shake. Sometimes I come by and she's off somewhere doing something else, but she always comes back and it's worth the wait (if they have green mangoes, that is). I'll have to learn ate's name at some point. Other health buffs like to do the "Juice Cleanse" with these as well. Spruce mainly produces and sells cold-pressed juices that are really good. They are all made from scratch without harmful additives. The cashier told me that all their juices have no preservatives and added sweeteners. All the juices they sell taste like that naturally. It all comes from the natural ingredients they use - either from the fruit or the vegetable. Each bottle must be consumed in 48 hours or less because they're unpasteurized so it'll expire in a short amount of time. It just goes to show how the ingredients used are natural and fresh! My personal favorites are The Skinny Bitch (a green juice that's composed of Pear, cucumber, pomelo, celery, romaine, and ) parsley, Lady Luck (carrot, orange, pear, pineapple, beet, lemon, and ginger), and the Lemon-Aid (filtered waiter, lemon juice, organic grade B maple syrup, and cayenne powder). You can choose from a bevy of different sized slush containers that have certain number of layerings (you can have 2 to 8 layers) of slushy flavors - they look like rainbows in a drink! Makes me wonder if rainbows taste like these - aside from Skittles. They also sell 3 different kinds of chips but we only tasted the slushies. They have seating too if you want to chill for a bit after a day of shopping. I really liked their green apple and strawberry flavors and I certainly felt like a little kid in an amusement park while I was enjoying my drink!

I decided to get their Minty Berry Detox - a purplish concoction with different kinds of berries, lemon and mint leaves. Each bottle is quite pricey but I didn't mind paying especially if it's for the benefit of my health. So all you health buffs out there, do try this one out. So far I've tried the Cold Defender and the Green Supreme. Both tasted exactly as I thought they would (have the ingredients on the front of the bottle). Not bad for 180 p considering they are usually much more expensive in the US. Unfortunately the smoothies were not impressive. They were mostly ice and the fruit they did put in was from a frozen pouch that could have been just concentrate.
