Jam is a quirky and haphazardly organised store selling second hand goods. Books and DVDs sit on bookshelves alongside from a wall of VHS tapes, old electrical equipment resides in a corner of its own, and children's toys and clothes find their home in the back corner of the shop. I could never imagine anyone heading to Jam with a shopping list, and succeeding in tracking down their desire goods, instead you stumble across things, and find gems.
I picked up a collection of short stories called "Milk" and was pleasantly pleased to pay only 50p for it! A real bargain in anyone's book I'm sure. Sadly, as its not a charity shop, I didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping someone when I handed over my change, but the lady who served me was very pleasant. To the point I felt guilty for only paying 50p...
Sadly, I'm not too sure the place will be around for too much longer, as it didn't seem to be replacing the stock it sold. But for however long it stays around, it may be worth your time to give it a look! read more
