Instead I decided to try my luck with my local Johnsons, and could not possibly have been more satisfied with the result. They have repaired the skirt so well that it looks brand new, and no sign of any damage. The service cost about £9, which is absolutely brilliant (it would have cost a million times more in London). If you walk a little further and into the main market you'll see Yan & Sons perched on the left hand side offering much the same service. They're just smaller. OK, a lot smaller. But there's an up side to their size and flow of custom - a quicker, more personal service for you. They offer a while-you-wait service for their key cutting and shoe repairs and various other bits and bobs they do, which isn't really an issue seen as you're in the Cardiff Market, one of my favourite place to wander around. As with all the traders in the market, they are long-time experts in their field, so they will offer advice and guidance that you can trust.

The shop itself is 5 minutes from Queen St Station or about 15 minutes from Central Station - a side turning off Queen St beside Barclays Bank.

This makes using Skype, gaming or even watching a film entirely feasible, without feeling as though the rest of the world is watching you. Clearly a good headset is required to make Skype conversations possible... you can either bring your own, or use one of the Internet City headphones without charge. They also have a couple of international phone booths at the rear of the shop. Again, these have been built with privacy in mind, and allow you to talk to friends and family around the world without feeling in any way self-conscious. I've not used their laptop repair service and so I cannot vouch for this. But they seem to stock a selection of accessories and consumables, and so it looks as though they are equipped and know what they are doing.
