This fantastic place is just 10 minutes or less from the M6 motorway and if I am passing Stoke around a mealtime, I always try to pop in. The owner is a very amiable guy & I enjoy my experience here every time. I recommend grabbing a couple of roti and getting tucked in to their scrumptious Karahi Lamb, with a can of mango juice. I hope it's not long before I find myself in the area again. Just finally, a last word on the premises and area. Please don't go expecting a restaurant in the traditional sense, this is a cafe with formica tables etc, but it's the food you visit for & what will make you return.

I hadn't had a good vindaloo in years, so went with lamb tikka in vindaloo and a piece of naan. Combined with some complementary pappadum and chutney, it was a bargain at just under £12. The vindaloo was certainly spicy, but not overwhelming (if I was going for real pain..they have phaal on the menu). While the naan was a bit plain, it did a fantastic job of soaking up the curry.

The location and décor is unremarkable, and I was horrified to learn that Aneesa is unlicensed, so I couldn't order a beer to accompany my curry! Having said this, I do like the idea of taking your own drinks.. you've just got to be prepared (by reading reviews). The food however, is amazing as are the prices. The service is notable for its excellence also. My wife ordered a dish that was a little too hot for her. The waiter was quick to spot this and offered to replace it with another dish. They also replenished the 'lost' rice, free of charge! If you love curry, pay this place a visit.
