Bad business practice by Citizens State Bank Onalaska. I am a senior citizen who is a custodian for…read moremy kid's account there. I am paranoid about going out during the pandemic. They charged me a service fee for not getting to the bank in time to take care of my kid's account. When I asked the manager to waive the fee, she was disdainful and inflexible. It wasn't even all my fault; they could have called to warn me about the penalty. I wasn't clear on the ramification or the date for action. In sum, it's not all about the money, it's not all about the rule. It would just be a decent thing to do to show a little kindness, caring, help or courtesy. She has none in her. Not sure if she's just a bad apple, or a fair representation of the bank.

I have a credit card through them, have had five vehicle loans (one currently), and three home loans with them. Every time, they've been great. During one very dark period of my life, they were able to work with me to adjust monthly payments on a loan that best suited my financial situation (that was Dave...I'm not sure if he's still there, but my God, he was the best!). However, I currently find their customer service condescending. I know they're all younger than me now, but I don't need to be spoken to like a child. I also don't like the lack of urgency and the lack of doing all they can for the customer. Many of those I speak to seem lazy and uncaring. I truly hope they can train this new group of employees to behave and respond to customer needs like their previous generation. Maybe it will come with time. I've considered leaving because of the current culture but it's been such a good experience through the long haul that I'll probably continue with them.
