Wow, like a deep tissue massage without all the bruises. Seems like the practitioner knows their stuff, since a couple of medical issues were definitely being "worked on" during the course of the session after the needles were placed. Also, can we please stop saying "needles"?! I'm a little needle phobic *tiny bit*, but they were surprisingly no big deal *YAY* The practitioner is very gentle, calming, surprisingly intuitive and overall a pleasure to interact with. I look forward to next my next session *super relaxing* Pros: -They take most insurances, call to verify yours ahead of time *things change* -My initial appt was for a medical insurance consultation. Makes sense since they have to get pre-approved for insurance payments (mine is approved for 12-sessions in advance). No acupuncture during this initial assessment. -Insurance approved in ~1 week (faster than expected) -Appointments can be with anyone in the office, you can alternate as you wish *love the flexibility* -Private rooms are cozy and set-up for optimal relaxation (music and water feature in each) -Very hygienic and No strong smells of any kind. -They also have a Medford office -Private parking lot for customers *Ashland parking can be challenging at times* Cons, because that's what we yelpers wanna know: -The most popular acupuncturist splits their time between the Ashland/Medford offices *PLAN AHEAD* -Not affordable (without insurance) for ongoing maintenance treatment *in my opinion*

After six months and countless visits with specialists, western medicine suggested my ears were unlikely to heal. Not satisfied with that answer, I was searching for alternatives. I was fortunate to find David's practice and the combining healing practices of acupuncture and craniosacral therapy. During my first visit I had immediate relief in the pressure, and from there, it has been a long but steady process of healing. David is amazing; he is kind, thoughtful, and communicative about the process. Although I was seeking help for a specific injury, the healing practices David employs are holistic and have benefited my wellbeing in so many other ways. Jaime Stephens - Medford, OR

I saw him for a few months as we worked on old football injuries in my hip, which was very helpful and I saw noticeable improvement pain and mobility wise. Some time after this, I was really tired after a week of packing boxes getting ready for our UHaul move... I just took a wrong step while tired and injured my foot. It hurt every time I put pressure on it and I still had days of lifting and exertion ahead of me. I'm athletic and body aware, and I was concerned. Dr. Volz saw me in the morning, and after working with my foot I was able to stand and move around, and it didn't bother me almost at all for the following days! Between the longer work with my hip and that amazing session for my foot, I am convinced that Dr. Volz is incredibly gifted. Enjoy!

He tested the pain in the right elbow and then placed some needles in my left knee and ankle and then tested the pain again and it was nearly all gone immediately. Another time I went in for a queasy stomach that wouldn't go away. He gave me some Chinese herbs to drink and while I think most people would be challenged by the taste, I actually liked the way it tasted like earth. In any case it fixed me up completely. The latest thing was my left shoulder had been oddly impinged when trying to raise it up (like when you put on a coat). Once again, a few needles and it improved greatly. Of course I went in a few more times to make sure the channel stayed open. I like to combine the acupuncture session with a cranio-sacral session. David is so calm and thoughtful. I know I can count on him to really pay attention to what I need. I cannot recommend him more highly. If you schedule an appointment you might want to schedule two or three a few days apart because he is super busy and tends to be booked out a long ways. Absolutely worth the wait!

What did I have to lose? I was desperate for any improvement as 6 more weeks seemed like an eternity! I went to the first available acupuncturist I could find within my insurance network and after 1 visit, I didn't feel any improvement, nor did I expect to after 1 session, but since I was desperate, I thought I might as double down and try another acupuncturist the same week that a friend recommended and up my chances. This visit was with the incredible Jeremy Rothenberg. On our first meeting, he allowed ample time to listen to my concerns and issues and was genuinely anxious to do everything he could to rid me of my ailments right then and there. After that first session with him, it was like "MAGIC!" I exclaimed as I got up from his acupuncture table and felt NO pain instantly. It seemed impossible since my pain was so severe, I was mystified and amazed at the same time. The pain reappeared later that day but to have been relieved of it for even hours, was simply a miracle. I quickly booked up Jeremy's calendar and returned as often as I could for these miraculous sessions and with each session, the absence of pain grew longer and before I knew it, I delivered my healthy baby boy (with a much easier delivery than my first which I wouldn't be surprised is also a result of my acupuncture treatments with Jeremy). Thankfully, after the birth, my SPD and belly aches disappeared immediately and entirely, but once I am out of the newborn phase and more independent, I plan to return to Jeremy's office to maintain my overall good health and I recommend him to everyone I can in the meantime! MAGIC I TELL YOU :)
