Dragons Den is a Chinese and Cantonese Restaurant with both take away and eat in facilities. When…read moreeating in you can choose from the menu or have the buffet. It is accessible with a push chair, though with some of the seating arrangements it could be hard to put one to the side while the child eats at the table. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. The food is delicious, the flavours are fresh, not sickly or oily which I find a lot of Chinese take away can be. The buffet has a nice medium size selection, a little bit of everything. The only down size is that most of the deserts arent made on the premises, they seem to be out of a box.

Nothing but predictable dishes that brit's think are chinese but would never be served in China. The minuscule selection of food that was available was ok - nothing special and nowhere near as tasty as my local takeaway in Oakengates. To the 3 people who loved this so much get yourselves over to Birmingham to Big Wok or Jimmy Spices or better still have a day out in China Town in Liverpool (Oldest China Town in Europe) and prepare for your taste buds to go crazy from pleasure! Of and final note - not only is this the least impressive Chines buffet I have ever experienced but also the most expensive but what can you expect from that money grabbing grump who also owns Pussycats and Club Crush where the average drink costs the same price that you can get a full Chinese buffet dinner from at Big Wok in Brum!

Fourth Visit - 28/5/14…read more With family. Food came out very quickly given that they had a large party. The place was fairly full again. I made a reservation this time. My wife was not impressed by the lighting, and worried about the food. She didn't feel it was cooked fresh as it was coming out too quickly. I decided to change my chicken dish from last time and had the Sichuan, but it just was bland. I got the correct noodles this time. My son complained to me that the steak was tough. I was pretty peeved given it was their decision to go for a Chinese meal from what I had said previously. They didn't have a bottle of Pinot Grigio. A pretty common wine. Pork Yuk Sunk - £7.00 Veg Singapore Chow Mein - £6.00 Sizzling Chicken Satay - £8.50 Canton Steak - £12.50 2 x Pepsi - £4.40 1 pint of Grolsch - £3.40 Bottle of Chenin Blanc - £15.50 2 x Cold sweet - £5.90 TOTAL = £70.70 Service was good. Dropping a star overall due to the food, and lacking flavours. --------------- Third visit - 21/5/14 I've dropped this down a star. I ordered the same as last time, but I swear that the Kung Po chicken was different. There was a brown sauce this time, and I even queried it, but was assured it was correct. My doubt was heightened by the fact that the noodle dish I ordered (Vegetarian Singapore Chow Mein) had pork and prawns. The waiter accepted I'd been given the wrong dish, but I couldn't wait for it to be changed. The waiter even came back after placing our order to check everything again, so I was surprised when he or the kitchen got it wrong. They were very nice about it all and did offer to change, but as I say I stuck with what I had in front of me. What I had was very nice, However, the Kung Po chicken wasn't to my taste. The place I visit in Redditch uses a clearer sauce, and Sichuan peppercorns and this gives it a nice edge to the spicyness. I did notice that they charged me for the wrong noodles at £8.00 per plate, as opposed to the one I actually ordered £6. As I ate the £8 one I suppose it was correct. £2 in the schemes of things ain't a big issue. As usual the place was really packed, and I thought we were lucky to get a table. I asked twice for the aircon to put on, or at least increase, as it was getting really hot. They opened the front door, but this did little to help. At one point I had to go outside to cool down. I thought that we were served pretty quickly given there were three large parties. Just to note that the portions are very good. I would return, but I'd be more emphatic about my order. ------------ First time visit, but colleagues go there a lot. Stir Fried Mussels (Green Lipped) - £6.50 Kung Po Chicken - £7.50 Mixed Veg Chow Mein - £6.00 The latter I should have specified a smaller dish. All very delicious. The restaurant wasn't too busy. Colleague constantly asked for praw cracker refills, and got them. Attentive staff, and friendly. We divided the bill, so with two pints added, it was rounded up to £26.00 each. I can't fault the experience.
