I have not been to the gym…read morein over 3 years and finally decided to take some initiative to lose the Covid-19 weight gain. The commitment is a minimum of 3 classes per week with the end goal of a total of 48 classes. The first day of class they take your body measurements, weight, and photos. This is to show the progress after the 16 week Challenge is over. You'll need a set of gloves to get started and costs about $80/month. Each class is between 30-45 minutes long and makes you sweat ALOT. Plenty of classes available to fit your schedule. The workouts are 25 different stations setup to help you workout your entire body each session. I'm now on week 4 and really think the best part about this place is the camaraderie between gym members. Although, I don't know the names of the other members there is always a fist bump ready for you at the end. People encourage each other as we make progress with a common goal to be healthy and not just lose weight. The only negative is that Coach needs to play more BTS on the playlist besides Dynamite and Butter. On a serious note, this place is really welcoming and family oriented. Definitely has a different feel from your average gym. Worth the try and the place to go if you're gym cautious like I was.

I've trained and taught boxing in a handful of gyms in different cities, states, and countries and…read moreRingside is the best gym by far. I started training at ringside in 2007 and I still love it. Ringside was a huge part of my adolescence. My training at Ringside helped transform me into an athletic, outgoing, and confident person. This is a legitimate boxing gym. The gym will give you an even better workout than cardio boxing at your weightlifting gym with the added value of actually learning proper boxing technique. You won't find any fluff at this gym. In my experience, many gyms do not automatically teach real boxing - if you really want to learn, you have to pay for personal training. That doesn't exist at Ringside. If you sign up at Ringside, you will receive top notch coaching that will enable you to become skilled in the art of boxing. This gym also offers the best pricing that I've seen.

--Disappointing experiences with the coaching environment--…read moreI've trained at multiple gyms and experienced different coaching styles, but the behavior from the ownership and training staff here is uniquely unprofessional and hostile. I attended both beginner and intermediate/advanced classes throughout July and August 2026. Instead of providing constructive coaching, the trainers often yell at and belittle members in a way that is hostile rather than motivational. While boxing requires intensity, there is a clear line between pushing someone and disrespectful shouting that borders on rage. This environment is neither welcoming nor safe. A few specific incidents stood out: * Owner Refused to Teach: At the beginning of one class, Greg (the owner) was in a sulk and refused to teach. The assistant coaches were visibly embarrassed and frozen. I had to start shadowboxing to get the class moving, and other students awkwardly followed my lead until the assistants recovered. * Belittling Students: Trainer Jaimie openly laughed at and belittled a student for having a low punch count during a drill, leaving the student visibly shocked and hurt. * Explosive Reactions to Communication: When I asked my partner a quick clarifying question about a drill, Greg screamed "No Talking!" at me. I witnessed him have similar explosive fits of rage at others for minor things like sitting too close together or not facing the mirror during stretching. * Unhinged Rants: When I explained to Greg and Jaime that being yelled at tenses me up and makes it hard to focus, Greg launched into an unhinged, 3-minute rant, screaming at me "too bad, we're going to yell at you", "this isn't a place for customer service", "it's not Burger King", and more. This gym fosters a toxic, unsafe, and stressful environment rather than a motivational one. Look elsewhere for professional coaching.

I've been going here for about four months now and I love it. This is a real boxing gym. They have…read morebeginner and advanced classes and they have boot camp classes as well. I did a few months at Prime Time Boxing last year, but Boxing Academy is so much better if you are looking to learn technique. Boxing classes vary greatly and you may spend the entire session working on technique and footwork and the next session could be all conditioning and bag work. Coach Abe is great and has a positive and motivating personality. Sometimes the class sizes can be quite large and sometimes it may just be you and the coach. Regardless of the size, I've always gotten personal instruction in every class. They have a lot of equipment on site (like gloves, jump ropes, mitts, etc.), so if you are interested in trying it out, don't worry about investing in gloves right away. You should bring your own hand wraps, though, which run about $10 a pair. They also have open gym sessions, so if you are a member, you can come and work out on your own. They have weights and racks, as well as a ton of heavy bags, double end bags and speed bags. The place can be a bit hard to find, it's on Galilee and the drive way is right where the road starts to turn towards Industrial. Drive past a large iron-wrought gate and the gym is right there on the right as you go through the gate. (The parking lot lights can sometimes be off at night.) I would highly recommend Boxing Academy for anyone looking to learn how to box or just looking for a fun and challenging place to workout! I also recommend following their Facebook page as they tend to keep that the most updated with schedules, events and gym times.
