For those living in Middle Tennessee and those traveling through the region -- the Natchez Trace Parkway is a bucket list destination -- especially for outdoor enthusiasts. You don't even have to leave your vehicle to enjoy the scenery -- but then you would miss hidden gems like Jackson Falls. Located at Mile Post 404.7 the trailhead has adequate parking and directional signage. This is a very steep (900 feet) trail that drops down to the bed of the pool and falls. We've witnessed both robust water levels with beautiful water falls & periods of dryer conditions with just a trickle of falls. Either way it's a good cardiovascular workout and full of gorgeous scenery. read more
