So this is a cooool place on top of some hill that has lets you have an overview of the whole city. I'd compare this to Tagaytay because of the cool wind breeze. It houses dining places like Taklobo (where we had dinner), Karlo's Gourmet and Coffee (that has exotic drinks such as mangosteen frappe, etc.), Tap Room (which I think was a high end bar where you can do karaoke haha), and there was one other restaurant bar too that I forgot the name of (you have to go down the stairs to which we didn't go to). There's also a playground for kids.
I'd write a bit of review for the Taklobo place because that's where we had dinner. The place is huge and open air. It's definitely better at night. We ordered more of seafoods. They were out of the specialty tho. We ordered seafood sinigang, tinolang Imbao (shells), kinilaw, grilled tuna panga (tuna jaw), liempo, and nilasing na hipon (drunken shrimp?). I'm kind of allergic to seafoods so I didn't eat everything. But my colleagues said they were all perfect. The liempo was just the one not good. So if you ever go here, order more of the seafood! They also have a variety of wines and liquors. But we ordered fruit shakes. I had the pomelo one which wasn't so sugary so it's good.
There are a group of old men in some Hawaiian shirts and they had instruments such as guitar, double bass, hand tapped drums, and harmonica (if I remember correctly). They ask the diners if they wanna be serenaded or not (I would have wanted them to but my senior colleague told them no already). If you say yes, you can pay them with a voluntary payment.
Jack's Ridge is really beautiful and artistic. So I'd recommend you to take a visit here when you go to Davao. It's a pretty famous place. :) read more
