I want to start of by saying that Mark is one professional and amazing photographer. Having boys, I was afraid that they wouldn't enjoyed the photo session but Mark made them feel very comfortable from beginning to end and they enjoyed every minute of it. Pictures turned out beautiful and I can't thank him enough for this wonderful experience read more

Mark took our engagement pictures for us. We wanted some fun and flirty pictures for our wedding and our photography session went smoothly from start to finish. Mark was patient and he asked us what we wanted. Now we have these pretty pictures to show our friends and family and use for our wedding next year. It was easy to schedule the date and time with Mark. He sent us a calendar invite to make the appointment. Then, we chatted a bit over the phone about the concept and the props that we could use. On the day of, it was relaxed and Mark was very patient. He gave us pointers to get the best angles. I love these fun and casual pictures! read more

Jackrabbit Photo - Our cute engagement pic - Event Photography Near Me

Mark was a thrill to work with! My fiancé and I had just gotten engaged and didn't know of too many photographer. We happened to find Mark on Groupon, he offered a 2 hour session with one large print and a slide show of 30 images and then additional package for purchase of our image files. We've never done a photoshoot before so Mark was great about giving us tips for poses and staging the shots we brought props for. We had a beach shoot and it was very windy. I have long dark hair which became a bit of an obstacle while shooting (my fault I should have known better lol) but the pictures still turned out amazing, you wouldn't know just how hard we were trying to keep my hair out of my face haha I loved the final outcome! Our pictures have beautiful color and lighting and I can't wait to use them for our save the dates! read more

My fiancé and I took our engagement pictures a few days ago and we are so pleased!! Not only was Mark nice, but he has such a good eye for photography scenes. He didn't just take pictures of us posing, he also took picture of us as we were goofing around which I feel came out better because you can tell we were cracking up and having a good time..those are the best pictures in my opinion. He was also very patient when it came to my posing, he knows exactly where your body should be positioned against your partners. The lighting was a big thing to him too, he would switch us over whenever he felt there was better lighting somewhere else or a better view. If you're looking for someone friendly, patient, and who loves their job as a photographer, then look no further! Thank you Mark! read more

We found Mark through Groupon and chose him to photograph our son's 10 month baby pics. We were confident in our choice because of his stellar reviews, and we are so glad we did! Mark suggested the El Dorado dog park as the location for the photoshoot and gave us a few tips on colors to avoid, props, and to bring several outfit changes. We met on Father's day and appreciated that he was so accomodating to shoot for us on a holiday. What a pleasure to work with! He was familiar with the park and knew all the right spots to shoot for the best lighting and background. Not only does Mark have a great sense of humor (actually really funny!), he was patient throughout a few crying episodes and even a quick feeding session. Super professional, yet he made the whole process so comfortable. Over 400 amazing pictures were captured during the two hours, and they were all edited/uploaded within a few days. We loved how beautiful they came out we decided to go with one of his packages.. cant wait to see the prints! We had such a great experience overall, we will be booking him for our son's first birthday event :) Thank you so much Mark! read more

I had a great birthday shoot with Mark!! Can't wait to see the proofs!! I found him on Groupon! Booking our family photos next!!

We had our engagement photo shoot with Mark. He is very professional and made our vision come alive with his expertise. My fiancé and I highly recommend Jackrabbit photo! The photo prints look amazing. We got them framed and put them in our home. Looking forward to working with Mark in the future again. We are forever thankful! read more

Definitely give Mark a try if your looking for great photos for an amazing value! My fiance found his deal on groupon and we thought we'd give him a try. Mark was very accommodating with our requests. As a guy who doesnt like doing these things, he made it pretty casual and bearable. He explained some tips about posing and lighting to create great pictures. He helped us relax so the photos would come out more natural. Also, Mark was great about not rushing the photo session even though we ran quite a bit late. I was way tired before him and my fiance were. He was still suggesting shots until the very end before he had another appointment to get to. Great guy to work with! read more

After losing 2 wedding photographers due to unforeseeable emergency, my (now) husband mentioned that he'd found an Amazon Local deal online for a wedding photog. Now, initially I blanched at the idea, since 1) it's our wedding and buying a "deal" seemed shifty and 2) we didn't have a videographer, so... photos were all we had. After much mulling and with a desire to just "make a decision," we hired Mark. One of the best decisions we made. Mark was clear, professional and over-delivered on his promises. We met for a pre-lim meeting so he could get to know us and walk through the day together. During that time, he told us a little about himself and walked through the wedding timeline together. He was clear, concise and showed us photos from a wedding he'd done the previous weekend. While we'd booked him for 4 hours, he agreed to sub our engagement photos for a 5th and then did a 6th hour, just to make sure he got all the shots he thought we'd need and have enough time for everything. Our timeline for the day went wonky almost immediately and he was extremely flexible, making the most of every moment, and working with a professional sense of autonomy. To be honest, I was a little sour the next day, thinking "I didn't see him all night!" until I saw the photos on the site and fell in love... He captured every single moment, took wonderful photos of our guests and somehow was invisible through it all--- a true compliment for a photographer. read more

Mark was amazing! He did our family shoot in our backyard and was very patient and professional during the process. We got so many great shots for our Christmas pictures and our picture wall. We received digital images as well that I have used to post online and have had so many great compliments! Thanks Mark!! We will definitely use you again:)) read more

Mark shot our family photo and we couldn't be happier with his kind service. Great location, photos came out very nice and what I like the most is I did not feel rushed. He took his time shooting my family which includes two little ones; which is very challenging to shoot. Definitely happy with the services received and would recommend him to family and friends. Thanks you, Z&J Lockhart read more

First I want to say that this is not a review based on his photography skills but more so on his level of unprofessionalism & I wish I had more nice things to say. I bought a groupon and set my appointment months in advance and he seemed to be professional and accommodating in the beginning over the phone & via email. However, on the day of the shoot I didn't feel the same. He was a few minutes late as I made it to the location before him and the parking was not great. It's Long Beach, so I would assume that you arrive at least 15 minutes early to find parking to beat your customer there. I initially chose this location from the suggestions Mark gave me & he kept mentioning going to another location which wasn't my desire bc I liked the location that I chose. My appointment was at 11 and I had to wait around for him to find parking. So, my mothers suggestion was for him to find parking in a nearby structure so we could finally get started and we watched his equipment while he went to get parking in the structure so he wouldn't have to walk far with all of it. This turned into my mother and I waiting for an hour, not off to a good start! After returning with the rest of his equipment he states how he will have to rule that location out for shoots and told us that we were responsible for his parking & gave us the fee. Initially, we said we wouldn't be paying for his parking bc of how long we had to wait and thought that we weren't responsible for it. So, abruptly he states " I'm done and I'll give you a refund", grabbed his equipment & walked away! That was the end of that. There was no discussion or reasoning with us even after we wasted our time and paid for two hours of parking! I am an honest person and will say after reading the fine print again after my call with groupon it states that we(the customer) are responsible for associated fees including entry and parking fees. If we were able to have a discussion with Mark about this it would have been much simpler but he was not willing. I got my refund directly from groupon the same day and haven't had anymore dealings with him nor has he tried to reach out to me about my refund. My suggestion is not to even purchase this groupon if it ever becomes available again bc it seems that he feels like he is doing the customer a huge favor which may be why it was so easy for him to just walk away. I was shocked at this form of unprofessionalism and I hadn't even got to work with him, so this was a huge learning lesson. read more

WOW! I seriously looked forward to writing this review! I contacted Mark through the Living Social & figured there was no better deal for beach photos. He was so helpful in explaining every detail of the process AND TIPS on what to wear, props to bring, and other ways to prepare for the shoot. Upon meeting, he gave us paperwork that also helped clarify what the deal was good for and what the next steps were. I had a ton of pictures of poses that I wanted to try & he let us do ALL of them! I was so happy that I had the freedom to choose instead of being told how to pose. Being a woman, I of course wanted to look my best (and thinnest) so he gave me tips on ways to stand to achieve that. He's really a pro! When I saw the photos, I fell in love, before editing! HE'S AWESOME. I will definitely be contacting him for any future photos. He is flexible, fun & most importantly, so obviously passionate about what he does! read more

Mark is a great photographer and a terrific person to work with. He is punctual and professional. He makes the photo shoot fun for the nervous subject and provides simple guidelines and ideas days before so you can prepare. He takes his time during the shoot and allows the customer to change into different outfits if desired or try different props. I highly recommend Mark for any event in your life that you want to immortalize with a beautiful photograph. read more

Could not be happier & we have not even seen the finish product yet! So we got last minute notice that my brother was deploying to Afghanistan....with things happening so fast we did not even think to book a photographer for our family picture before his departure...well I found Mark (Jackrabbit Photo) on Friday the 13th and explained the situation to him...he agreed to move some things around and he accomodated our request and scheduled us for Saturday (the 14th). We met him at Cabrillo Beach (beautiful) and he worked with our pretty large group and really just made things perfect. We are ever so grateful and cannot wait to see the finished product. We will definitely be using Mark for any future photography needs as we were pleased with him all around, he is truly a pleasure to work with. Thanks Mark! =) read more

Mark is a gem! We found him through Groupon, and purchasing from Groupon is sometimes a hit or miss, but Mark is a definite HOMERUN! Mark at Jackrabbit Photo did such a spectacular job with our maternity photoshoot. We were really happy with the gallery he sent us and are looking forward to receiving our prints and to framing a few photos to decorate our baby's nursery before his arrival. At 34 weeks pregnant I'm not feeling my most photogenic but Mark did an awesome job of putting my husband & I at ease, bringing out our best qualities, and in guiding us through a process for getting best shots in terms of lighting, angles, etc. He captured some beautiful, natural moments between us and the essence of who we are as a couple + who we hope to be as a family. I'm so glad we went with Jackrabbie Photo to capture this special time in our lives! read more

Wanted to give a huge shoutout to Mark. he is a natural photographer. He intuitively knows what the client (me) needs by asking just a few short questions. He's also one the only headshot photographers I know who's concerned with what happens after the shoot as much as during the shoot... He also has a tremendous knowledge of post production & editing which really helps you get a leg up on the completion. I look forward to working with Mark again, soon. I can't begin to write how appreciative and happy my family and I are with Mark and our photo shoot. From the beginning Mark made sure to introduce himself and talk to my family to see what we wanted as a whole, he was so easy to work with! We wanted to incorporate a picture of my late brother-in-law and he did a wonderful job in putting the picture in at just the right times. Capturing just the right picture is important to him, he was very patient with my 2 year old nephew (not an easy task) and he didn't mind getting in the sand literally to capture the right moments. This was my families first photo shoot and it was such a positive experience, I am recommending Mark to all my friends and look forward to booking him for my wedding. read more

Mark is so sweet and incredibly patient. We have a 3 year old son who wasn't in the best of moods. Mark told us don't worry we have time no rush. I should say we had to reschedule a couple of times due to weather and or our little monster. He was very accommodating to our needs. Now let's talk about the photo's. They turned out amazing! I hate the way I look in most pictures. I tend to make weird faces. Well some how Mark was able to make me fall in love with my overly expressive face! After searching for a photographer for some time, I discovered Jackrabbit Photo on the internet. Mark answered my calls, emails, and texts promptly and gave me all the time needed to answer my questions as well as many great ideas prior to the shoot. He suggested a park with lots of interesting trees, logs etc. On January 5, 2019 our family of 14 met there. After the big group picture, I had a list of other shots to be taken. Grandparents, grandkids, individual families (3) and many more combinations. He was so patient, calm and creative to get the best shots. It shows his experience and talent. He is truly a professional. The two hour shoot went well in spite of a very cold day. He uploaded over 300 photos within several days for us to view online. We had a great experience. G. We had a family photo shoot with Mark, he was so professional and helpful through the whole process! From the moment we contacted him, he patiently guided us through every step, and offered many great advice regarding every detail about the photo shoot. On the day of the shoot, it was clear how much experience he had through the way he directed us to capture exactly the type of shots we were looking for. The most impressive part was the special set of eyes he had to spot for backgrounds that we probably would not notice, but turned out to be absolutely beautiful backdrops. On the way to our second location during the shoot, he saw an area of trees with autumn colors, we probably would've just drove by without taking a second look, but he told us that he thought this place would look good, and when we saw how the pictures came out, these were probably the best ones out of the entire photo shoot! Another reason I recommend him is that he makes sure to personalize your experience, unlike most businesses making the customers feel like the business relationship was obviously a means to an end; Mark was laid-back and very flexible, kept great communications and went above and beyond to make the whole process fun for everyone. The day of our photo shoot was 100+ degrees, but because we had a late start, he was more than happy to extent time to let us do all the poses/sets we wanted to do. We highly recommend Mark! read more

I wish I could say something nice. Unfortunately Marks professionalism is extremely poor. My husband and I bought a Groupon deal and took photos, we went to Marks cluttered single apartment to view the pictures, he tried to sell us in his editing and his popular package which was $300, honestly my husband thought it was a good deal, me I needed more time to consider. So my husband and I left the viewing and lots of things came up. We ended up just wanting to get the Groupon deal fulfilled and ordering more photos at a later time. So I emailed Mark the selected photos and selected a song for the slide show, Mark refused only because we didn't spend more money with him, his website even listed it was available for $15 extra. I communicated with Mark via email only, I never spoke with Mark over the phone and I shared the information with my husband. My husband gave Mark a call to further inquired about his 'a la carte' options. My husband was only trying to explain to Mark he should have a disclaimer if he was going to be selective as to what services he would provide to his customers based on the dollar amount spent. Mark became unpleasant and defensive, so my husband politely ended the call. I then accepted Marks terms to not allow us to pay for our song selection by email and he pushed our pick-up date back from 10 days to 3 weeks and I felt that Mark was being spiteful. Things went completely down hill from there; Mark became completely unprofessional, deleted our family pictures and left Groupon with no other option but to refund our money. Is it so wrong for a customer to ask why something isn't available to them, especially when the service is listed on the website. I filed a claim with the BBB and Mark continued to display his unprofessionalism with his responses, I would not recommend Mark to anyone for photography. read more

I feel compelled to write an update because I wrote such an enthusiastic review before my transaction with Mark was complete. After the shoot, Mark sent me a link so I could view my photos and select the shots I wanted in print. But, he hasn't responded to any of my subsequent emails or texts over the past 6-7 months. The bulk of the fee I paid was worth the time he spent with us and the link provided me the opportunity to download images, but I was supposed to also get large prints (including a bonus 8 x10 for writing a Yelp review). In addition the digital images are a little washed out (something I'm sure could be adjusted, but I'm not a photo editor!). So, I just wanted other Yelpers to have a complete picture of the beginning to end transaction. read more
