I've seen the sign out on the main road (which would be easy to miss) every day as it's on my commute to work and yet I've never been in. So this worked out well. What a great hidden gem, loved this place. If you're looking for it, it is opposite the attendant-less Maxol garage, down the side of the used car place. The décor has all the hallmarks of a trendy contemporary coffee shop/deli, nothing too original, but to their credit they have distilled the design to the best elements of it and then executed the layout very well, so it's a nice place to be. The staff were great too which I love as there is little to endear a place to me more quickly than nice people working there who are nice, not through customer training but because they are just good folks!! The food when was great, a wide range of mouth-watering choices are clearly displayed across the huge menu..... which is the entire back wall of the place. It has been painted in blackboard paint and the menu chalked up in big clear writing. The prices although on the higher end of average aren't extortionate by any means so I wouldn't call it cheap eats but you get top quality food and service for just north of average price. The coffee was great, which is an essential element for me and the last thing I ate was a scone..... as we were there so early, it was freshly backed and still warm from the oven......................... so so good!

We went into Binky's Kitchen and a large sign advised us to wait to be seated. A waitress found us a table immediately and provided us with the dedicated Vegetarian menu which we specifically requested. A broad menu with five Vegetarian options listed. I ordered the Superfood Salad which consists of rocket, spinach, avocado, beetroot, goats cheese, peppers, pine nuts and a sunblushed tomato oil dressing, it was flavourful and delicious. My dining companion had the Vegetarian Bake which I sampled and while nice it was a little bland with too much cream sauce and not enough veg. Feeling greedy we ordered coffees and desserts. Soya milk lattes are available on request. Coffee was fabulous and our Banoffee Pie and Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Ice Cream Sundae Jar (what a mouthful!) out of this world. Such beautiful and massive desserts. I really enjoyed dining in Binky's. Service was quick, food scrumptious, decor warm and ambiance relaxed with a family friendly feel. You do need to be hungry to eat here though as the portions are massive. Prices are good for such generous portions and quality food. Two main dishes, two desserts, two coffees and a soft drink cost us £32.53 in total. A great cafe and casual restaurant.

The rugged brick and wood, the very fancy lighting, there has been a lot of care, thought and attention to detail put into the decor and I'm always a fan of nice decor. This place is very popular with always someone in, which is why I thought I'd give it a try. I also can never resist a window seat in a coffee shop for people watching, and one had just become free. What I'm not a fan of so much is being ignored by staff and hard scones. I stood at the counter waiting to be served so long I was almost embarrassed, as two trendy and attractive boys leaned over the back counter trying to fix something on their phone. I don't mean to have a go about phones as mine is practically surgically attached, but hello, coffee needed. Eventually a girl came out of the kitchen and served me instead, caffeine in means calm in. The coffee was nice enough, but the scone was hard and dry. They had so many on display perhaps they just aren't selling them quickly enough. Or perhaps it is how I ended up feeling about the place generally- a little style over substance. I like style, but I like nice food too.

It feels like a little community, bustling with locals who all seem to know each other, and welcomed by staff who are so nice you are convinced you must have met them before. Serving a mixture of breakfast treats and lunch favourites like a good old toastie to sausage, beans and chips they have something for everyone. so long as that 'everyone' likes a good feed. They even do salads for the calorie concious, but I've never tried them as their full breakfast is a hug on a plate and probably the only non-greasy one I've tried in town. They also do a posher evening menu on Friday and Saturday nights which is BYO, and by the breakfast and lunches I've enjoyed, it is bound to be a winner.

I recently brought family here who opted for the large grill (fry) which was cooked really well and was very clean, no greasy items!! I opted for the Mighty Chorizo for a change and it was amazing. Two pieces of ciabatta topped with a delicious tomato sauce with peppers, courgette, onion and chorizo finished with two poached eggs (cooked to perfection). Made a nice change to the tradition breakfast items and is one I would defiantly recommend. All in all a great local eatery
